Brad's still a bad dude.

When I saw him at Glen Helen, I hooked him up with a little momento from last season that he can put to use to help raise a couple bucks for Magoo.

And yeah, he was one of my early heroes in the sport.

I still remember how cool he was at the SBMX back in the '70's as 4 inner city teenagers approached him one night at the Coliseum, and asked if he was Brad Lackey?, he looked at us and said, "I think so"..with a grin...

Iwas fortunate enough to see him race several times,he has always been an all time favorite.I always thought the dove on the cross bar was pretty cool.16 years old and going to Czechoslovakia to train and race, thats the stuff legends are made of ,a true icon of the sport.

well if you're gonna whip out lackey/wedding stories...

brad and his mechanic/best-buddy steve stasiefski (i get bonus points for spelling that correctly), plus a group who shall remain nameless (because there's a chance we/they could still get in trouble), were at billy clement's wedding reception.

someone prone to the number 7 and white doves, decided it would be fun to take all the factory maicos out of their box vans and scatter them in the surrounding woods.

then selverage (most of you know him as Sel from KTM) was asked to show someone a peek of a factory maico. sel proudly walked them back to the truck, swung open the doors and found a big empty space. ran to the other truck. same deal.

ever heard a guy from india scream? he cleared all evidence of wildlife within a 20 mile radius. for three weeks.

when he started breathing again, we told him the bikes were in the woods. didn't exactly explain where. he probably slept really well that night, after all that running around in the trees, trying to find his bikes before the sun went down.

there is a relatively slight possibility that there may have been some very light drinking and inhalation of alternative-classed "appetizers" passed around at this event.

i don't remember that particular part of it, but a screaming sel running through the woods...yea, that's a keeper.

Yer right Lenny, he doesn't.

How about 17, living alone behind the iron curtain in a cold-water shack in Czecho, to start your moto dreams, and sticking with it more than ten years to nake them come true.
