Hydration Setups

Just wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for hydration packs on the cheap while riding. I'm going to be doing a hard endure this coming weekend for the first time, and I'm thinking it would be smart to run one since it's supposed to be about 90 deg at altitude and the race is 2 hours long. I've tried to get them to work before but when you wear a chest protector it just seems like it's hard to get them to fit right, any tips on what you use or how you attach yours to the chest protector? Pictures would be great if you have them, thanks.

Leatt SP1 hydration system is the shizzzzz. I used to run it straight into my helmet but now prefer the dangly hose. Remember: hydration happens well before the race.

I run an under jersey chest protector with the Leatt hydration pack over my jersey. Super comfy setup unless you also wear one of those stupid neck things. They ruin everything.

Hmm, that looks like a good system but I don't think it will work with my Atlas brace unfortunately. That's also a little more than I want to spend, I'm more looking for ways to make one of the cheap generic ones work if possible. Thanks for the suggestion though, much appreciated!

Tons of cheap ones out there. I run a Klim with my Atlas no issues.

Like posted earlier , hydration starts way ahead of race time. Back in my running days i would always load up on pasta the night before a race , not sure if it helped or not but i got to eat a bunch of pasta.

I use these two products. Yes they're expensive but USWE quality is second to none, very adjustable and comfortable to wear for my 2 plus hour offload races. I have had it for close to a year now and its been used and abused with no issues what so ever. I like the actual pack you put water in and that its washable and easy to set up to dry, I like the in helmet system others may not but its my preferred method.

This looks like something I may be looking for pretty soon. The backpack styles are never comfortable.

I bought one at wal mart for harescrambles. 20 something bucks. works perfect.

Not a hydration pack but you could rig something up like this if you get desperate. This method is common in GNCC's, where riders are given a small bottle during their pit stop and will bite onto the tube for as long as they want & then drop it on the course.
