The Shop
donnie hansen says just banged up.
tho i wonder where this lovefest was when hanny was dominating the series? give it a week and the same people will be back to complaining about how he is too old to be on a 250.
this place is as bi-polar as it gets.
Well, maybe not sandbagging then, but you get my point.
I'm not hating on anyone, so please don't take it that way. I hope he's in it tonight. He's killing it this year.
Pit Row
Man, that sucks if he's not racing tonight due to a concussion!
That sucks big time.
as long as its on tv, and the racers are getting paid, there is no such thing as sand bagging.
i dont know why or when the 125/250f classes started being considered feeder classes.
i much more prefered it back in the day when there was 125 specialists, 250 specialists, and 500 specialists. nobody called steve lamson a sandbagger. he was a 125 guy and mc was the 250 guy. different bikes, slightly different demands/skill sets.
hell, take alessi for example, he is and always has been a 450 guy, even more so as an amateur. his years in the 250 class did nothing but dull his edge for winning. and now he is stuck on a bike that, while i think the 350 is a great bike, its a bike that is made to be ridden like a 250f. it makes no sense.
when they take the 250f class off of tv, they can call it a true feeder series, and then riders like hansen wont be racing it because it wont pay shit. we are living in some sort of fantasy if we think that the 250f class is truely supposed to be a feeder class. and its lame that the tv tries to sell it as such.
Theoretically you're right. But it is what it is, and the best ride the 450s in the supercross class.
One of the things I've enjoyed most out of the 250 class for the last couple of years is watching the young kids go at it. To me, it is kinda like watching college ball vs. pro. The college kids go for it because they're looking to make that next level. Mistakes and all, it's very exciting to watch.
Hell, I guess right now's not the best time to have this conversation with Hanny hurt. I'm gonna post it anyway since there's been some replies regarding my original post. But I do hope Hanny's fine, and will be back for the next round. And heck, maybe a points deficit will make the racing all the more better!
i just hate seeing guys career get derailed because they are forced to race 250f's when the bike just doesnt suit their style. for others, the 250 class is a great place to sharpen ones skills, but that doesnt mean it should be a feeder series for everyone. and if a rider turns out to simply be a 250 specialist, i just dont see why they are forced to move up.
the amateur ranks are the place for feeder series and polishing one's skills. thats what lorrettas and such is for. 250 racing on live tv is nothing like amateur college stick and ball sports. apples and oranges.
but your right, we have derailed this thread. its about supporting hanny. i too am not a fan particularly, but i am a fan of any rider giving 100%, regardless of results or displacement or age. and hanny is in that category imo right now. get well soon and go get you title back!
it should be his choice to race, concussion or not...
