I recently just started racing the gncc circuit which is my first racing circuit I have taken part in my last 2 races I raced c class but feel like a lot of people are sandbagging and I have been getting whipped bottom of the class every race. I recently found out that trail rider class is for first year racers and I think it would fit better with me. At the next race do I just register as trail rider class or will they not let me since I have alredy raced c class.

With ama you can write a letter and ask/give reasons why you should move down a class. Not sure if it’s works the same with gncc. Typically you can say you feel unsafe in your class and show results that you have been getting spanked and they will let you.

If you’ve been finishing at the bottom of the C class I can’t imagine anyone’s going to care if you bump down to trail bike class. I don’t foresee anyone protesting you and I don’t see the AMA saying anything.

Bottom line, stick with it either way! The more you do it the more things will start clicking, you'll figure out a little race strategy, when to charge, when to rest etc. etc.

Start racing motocross to improve your speed. That will really benefit you in your GNCC racing.

Trail rider is a non points paying class so yes you should be able to ride it no issues.

I had a guy get 9th in 150b one weekend and the next weekend he dropped down to open C and smoked all of us. I would say they don’t really care. You will be fine. I doubt they will say anything.

The winners of C class would finish much better than 9th in B usually.

Depends on what you are looking for. Are you looking for a better finish position in class or to get faster? The only way to get faster is to ride/race with faster people. Like others mention above, trail rider is a non-points class and so are the sportsman classes. I ride sportsman A and get whipped most times but like riding in the front and staying on the lead lap.
