Both are good bikes, but the KTM will cost you more pennies.

1.st question... What are you going to use it for?

Both make good bikes, I personally like the CRF better for MX, but its all what you are used too.

Husqvarna. Just think that it's still made in Sweden and you'll be fine.

Not sure if Honda fixed the CRF or not so I'd go with the KTM. The 2009 KTM is a much better bike than the 2009 CRF so I see no reason why it wouldn't be the same in 2010. If you can pick up the motocross action test of the 09 450's. They said the CRF has serious handling issues and it does. My friend bought one and put about $1,200 in the suspenions and still isn't happy with it.

Actually the CRF would be my last choice!

MX no SX. Mostly sand tracks. Had a 07 450 KTM that i sold this spring.
That was a god bike.

Why did you get rid of the KTM? Something you didn't like about it? Or was it other reasons?

If you liked the KTM, what has made you look at the Honda?

Why just Honda if you were going to make a change from KTM? Why not blue, green, or yellow?

Just trying to get an idea what you thinking on this is...

If you are riding sand tracks, stick with the KTM. Nothing works as good in the sand as the KTM. I had one a few years back and that was one of the only places that I really liked the bike. If you look at a lot of GP results in the sand, there are always a bunch of KTM's up front, save for Lierop in the 450's this time.

If your not a pro I dont think you could go wrong. A Novice rider wont know the difference in handling and suspension. I see plenty of new 09 CRF's smoking the other bikes in all ranks at local races.

Just buy from a dealer that seems like a good person and is in your area. KTM, KXF, YZF, CRF, RMZ. They're all good bikes.

You looking for 450 or 250? Assuming 450 since your last was.

I don't know about all these folks claiming the CRF is a turd. Do you guys actually own one?

Here's what I can tell you about my '09 CRF 450:

It does need a remap to get the stalling and quirky throttle worked out. If not, just run the idle high. The manual calls for 1700 rpm. That's higher than you think. After break-in I've been able to idle mine down a touch and still not have probs with stalling.

The bike has great, smooth power. It's deceiving really. It doesn't hit as hard as my '05 but I can jump longer doubles out of corners that I couldn't before. It pulls long as well.

The throttle response is AMAZING compared to a carbureted bike. Absolutely no popping or crackling or hesitation. Just gobs of power when you ask for it. It really takes re-thinking throttle control.

The suspension set-up in stock for really was horrible. Both ends drifted anytime the bike was in a lean on less than smooth dirt. The front seemed to wander all over the place. I set it up like MXA recommended because that was the first review I read and it's point and shoot. Pick a line, any line and it will stick right in it. The front goes a little soft after break-in but if you're serious about riding/racing you'll want to get it worked anyway.

It's harder to clean than the previous CRFs. It has lots of little nooks and crannies like in the rear fender and underneath where mud and muck likes to hide.

Ergonomics are great. The bike is really light and you can feel that all over.

The front corners of the number plates have a tendency to hang on my boots.

As for the KTM. I made about 5 laps on one when I first got mine. The front suspension takes forever to break in. It had decent power but didn't seem as strong in the mid range but was less smooth as well. It felt tall and top heavy. Around here the parts for the KTM are more expensive and hard to find.
