In the mood for a new brain bucket, been using a Troy Lee for sometime and I love it....but their new designs are kind of fugly to me. I have been eyeing up the Bell moto 9, shoei (big time bucks though), one industries, or maybe an Arai. What do you guys like as far as fit and function go? I do not have much of an oppurtunity to try different helmets so i wanted to hear some different brand opinions.

Pretty much, your budget will give you the answer. Whats your head worth? IMO,Shoei,Arai, are the best,TLD, Bell,Foxv3, are really good also. Some helmets come with extra visors. nice perk since visors are like 30-90 dollar range. Also Fly has a really good upper end helmet, great choices, your budget will determine what you get.

I love my FLY one, it's carbon / kevlar and it wasn't near the price of TLDs and what not. The fit is also amazing.

Bell Moto 9. I have one, and I also have a SHOEI VFX-W, and the Bell beats it in comfort and style, in my opinion.

I agree the Moto 9 looks awesome...any idea where to get a descent deal on them? the best I can find is 475ish shipped. I can get a solid white shoei for about 417 shipped. I will have to look at the Fly as I did not even consider it

It depends on the shape of your head. Shoei fits oval heads. Arai fits round heads. I'm an oval head so I wear Shoei and found a new Factory Connection VFX-DT on ebay for $189.

I would never wear a Chinese made helmet, especially one that costs $400+.

AGV!! I was a long time lover of bell's, then went to arai for a little and I just got my first agv and wow. It's incredibly light and fits better as good if not better than my arai. Plus I like AGV's graphics this year.

x2. I have both and really like my Shoei once you get it pulled on, but if I were to have just 1 it would be the Bell Moto 9

Shoei and Arai are the best. TLD, Bell, and Fox are the second tier as stated above. Maybe tryout an AGV or Fly but I wouldn't trust anything other than these 7.

Combine CRF250pilot's advice with CRF505's advice and save yourself some money. I just picked up an '11 model Troy Lee SE3 for $220.

Get the plain white or black Shoei from Motosport for $415.00. You'll know why when you open the box.

Ebay. Watch the auctions. They usually go cheaper than the "buy it now".

If you're wearing a Troy Lee now, make SURE you try on the Bell before you buy it.

I thought I wanted a Moto 8 because of all the deals around and wanted either a TLD, Shoei, Bell or Arai, but HATED the Bell once I tried it on. The TLD has much better attention to detail and the fit for me was very comfortable. I put it up there with the Shoei's i've had before. The Troy Lee you already have is great; wouldn't be afraid to just get another.

Got the new Fox V2 for my son and he really likes it. One of the A riders came up to him and thought it was a custom painted helmet!

Tagger Designs is a dealer for Bell's, as well as SHOEI'S and most of the other top of the line helmets. He can give you a good discount. I am his son, so just e-mail me and I can give you more info. Thanks! (I sent you a private message with my e-mail, so just hit me up with an e-mail for questions)

Anyone know how the Bell Moto 8 fits compared to The Shoei as far as size goes?
