Went for the 500. I’d rather be overwhelmed than underwhelmed Laughing

That's what I hear Laughing I was a little surprised when they handed me the rim locks in a ziplock and said they don't come with them installed because "they make the tires out of balance and that causes too much road noise to pass sound tests for Ca." ? That must be one sensitive test. So yeah safe to say those tires won't be on there for too long. If I'm going through the trouble of yanking tires on and off to install the rim locks I'm putting good tires back on.

Good choice, is this your first dual sport bike?

If so you've just now ready to go down another avenue of pure unadulterated Motorcycle fun. Cool

It's replacing an 03 WR450, Did 145 miles on it with wifey on her XT250 last weekend. Great bike but it's 16 years old, time to step it up !Laughing Here's the soon to be for sale WR

Great bike! I love my ‘18

Now if you really want to experience that bike at it’s full potential:

- remove the reed cage from the airbox
- go with either a new ECU or an in-line fuel tuner
- address the plugged up exhaust with either new slip-on pipe or add an aftermarket end cap to the stock can.

awesome!

I can't stress taking out the reeds in the airbox enough! They are glued in with silicone, a simple blade to cut the silicone and some needle nose pliers to pry them out is all it takes. I guess it was a cheap and easy mod for KTM to make in order to pass sound testing. Removing those is a BIG improvement in performance.

enjoy the bike
