1. Roman Febvre 1-2
2. Tim Gajser 2-7
3. Thomas Ramette 5-3
I'm just wondering how they counted the points for overall?
MXoN style 2-7 = 9, 5-3=8 so Ramette would have been better
MX points style 2-7=22+14=36, 5-3=16+20=36 In MX tiebreaker is better last race result so Ramette would have been better
What made Gajser better?

Malcom Stewart such a nice guy talkin to everyone in the pits and took the time to go on a picture with everyone. He even set foot outside of the VIP/riders areo. Amazin for the fans.

Glad Febvre got the win because Pellegrini takes not prisoners and could certainly ruin a riders season. Typical AX rider it's what you have to do to win. I think it's lethal.

It's a pity because they had some good riders there it's just the crowd and atmosphere looked dead
But that doesn't mean that it is impossible to fill stadiums from +20.000 seats. If I look that E-Sport (indeed playing video-games like Counter-Strike or League of Legends before a audience) can fill Staples Center, Veltins Arena, ... But also other niche sports, like Speedway and Freestyle Motocross competitions like Nigh of the Jumps can fill stadiums then we maybe need to ask ourself the question: 'Do those failed events got promoted widely enough?' Because filling stadiums with only motorcross-minded people is like dreaming about having a 'manege a trois' with Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, or like dreaming about F1 races on dirt ovals. You get mine point.
Promotion at the moment feels a bike like, the Pope preaching to the Christians, but nobody from outside the Christian community knows that the pope said a thing. Also Motorcross-people are a bit disgusting. They wanna real AMA Supercross tracks in big ass arena's, ridden by the big stars. But if Ryan Dungey, Romain Febvre, Marvin Musquin, Tim Gajser, Jeffrey Herlings were racing in the Veltins Arena most said: No thanks to expensive. Thats very understandable, but those events who are cheaper aren't that much more popular. Why? Because then I hear them say: Oh they only have Gajser, Febvre and Malcolm Stewart. (Yeah and all those other European SX Specialist) but people are just too spoiled I guess? Or maybe they are tired or their own sport? I dunno for sure what's the reason.
I hear that they wanna create a big competition with 25-30 Indoor races. But I don't think Europe is ready.
1. One time race is not interested to fans, as its own. Believe me, if there would be 5, 6 different SX races in Europe, combined to some cup, there would be 6 times more media coverage for the same cup.
2. Fans react only to big names, but just for their favourite. Nobody in Holland cares about Gajser, or Febvre, there would be twice as much spectators, if they had Herlings. Or in Veltins arena, if Kenny would race in the middle of Germany. Europe is still hard patriotic, and fans don't like to switch countries. You won't see a French fan cheering for Nagl, or Herlings.
3. F1 had it's peak with Schumacher, MotoGP with Rossi, and MX with Cairolli and now Herlings. And before them, fans had their heroes. Big names. The agenda of media is, to create new heroes. That is the only thing fans can identify more easely then to complex bike characteristics, riding technique...
4. The fans are more and more lazy. They care only if the guys in yellow shirts scored. For every full football stadium, there are 100 times more fans behind TVs, and even more with club jerseys and other memorabilia. So if MX wants to spread fan base outside MX community, they need to simplify and cut this 2 day events. Cut race times by half, make more intense and simple format.
