The 125 seems to be gaining a little steam. KTM has brought theirs back along with the 150. TM is back with the 125 and 144. Husky brought back their CR125 that includes a 144 kit in the $5990.00 list price. Yamaha.....well they still show a seven year old restickered one available whether or not the local dealer will stock one.

After a 4 year break from riding I just bought an 05 yz125 and had Eric Gorr do his 144 magic to it. Smokers only for me.....

Aw geez, NOW you did it! In no time 500guy will be ALL over this, and it will turn into a 12 page flame fest. Fuck. So much for a quiet long weekend.

Without turning this into a flame fest and simply answering the question I will say this. When I stopped riding 4 to 4.5 years ago, thumpers dominated the local tracks on practice and race days.

I've been out to 3palms and Rio Bravo in the last month and there were TONS of smokers out, so it appears they are more popular now than 4 years ago. If you want to call that 'making a comeback' so be it....

It certainly appears that a good percentage of the weekend practice rider set is making the move back to them...

If he was talking about the national debt he would have multiplied, not added.

Obviously at pro racing, local or professional they are not. The ameteur and non racing crowd is a different story. Four strokes were great from 2004-2008, most of the kinks like crappy starting were getting worked out of the models, they got faster every year and people had inflated home equity and credit cards to borrow against. The bikes also hadn't blown up yet and were the same price as 125s/250 two strokes.

There's more of them out there than there has been, but it's still dominated by 4 strokes. Seems like most of the converts are returning riders and those who have had the horrors of blowing up a 4 stroke and drew the line.

Blown up four strokes you say??

X2, LOL. One YZ250F, one CRF250. First one got a $2200.00 "oh well, shit happens", second one got the $2400.00 line drawn.

I noticed this at 2 separate tracks this week and commented on it. Saw a guy unloading a new yz250 yesterday when I mentioned it. I remember when everyone would buy a new bike almost yearly, now its rare when you see someone showing up with a new bike. To me the tide is slowly turning back and which ever japanese manufacturer jumps in first with a reasonably priced 2 stroke will kill it. For the life of me I can't understand why they haven't made this step yet.

Per Capita, more 2T's are being sold...2010-12...by those that're producing them...for instance: Yamaha, KTM and even Husky...moved all their 2T's in the USA.

I realize this is Ubber-Painful for you Honda guys; but, there it is...

Besides, it's issues like this that're gonna make Husky/BMW, KTM...hell..."TM" advance their positions in the "Off-Road" segment while Japan's continues to shrink.

The owner of my local shop here in Phoenix was just commenting the other day on how flywheel weight sales have increased big time. He also just purchased the first 2012 KTM300XC in the state and it looks really sweet.

Hey, didja check out my new 250 "smog spewer"? I love it!

I'm a die hard honda 2 stroke guy (have 3 currently) but I hate the "green" propaganda honda puts out. it's as bad as an oil company claiming to be "green". how "green" are all the factories producing steel, plastics, tires and lubricants for honda?

this "green" ride everybody is on makes me sick.
