Started this build by snagging this kx 250 off of Craigslist brought it back to the shop and started framing it. Thankfully the frame was just powder coated but here are the before pictures

Just had all the new updated and everything written out and swiped back and went to the previous page and deleted it all

The Shop

I took the radiators and got some airplane paint remover and soaked then and soaked then to get the green paint off the motor mounts were also spray painted green so did those as well then hit them up with red scotch brite. So then it went to the motor and every bolt on the bike

Just to mess with some buddies I tossed this throttle body on there to see if they could spot anything weird

How the kx 250 rear number plates lined up with the airbox and the subframe running through the middle of both of them really bugged me seeing how the subframe was black with the white backgrounds so I ordered black number plates and rear fender was going to order black shrouds as well but at the time the place I ordered plastics was out of stock so just left the shrouds on there
New wheels came in with some Dunlop 32s
PC pipe came in as well as all the new plastics
Removed the newer PC clamps and put the stock clamps back on that I just sand blasted and cleaned up. Was bouncing back between the fat bars or twinwalls

So you cleaned all those parts and bolts with red scotch brite?

Awesome!
Got me one of the bikes hiding in a plastic storage box , so loving the inspiration of this build.

Yeah clean them all with a wire brush or wire wheel then the top head of the bolt with red or green scotch brite and if you want to get real fancy get some polish and polish them out too same method I used on all my ti bolts just changed it up a little for the one bolts put the threaded side of the bolt in my drill and put the head on the pad and let her eat

Are you trying to get the EFI to work or is it only for confusion Evil

Sweet, I'm gonna take advantage of the shitty weather and shallow wallet, and just start cleaning up a handful of parts after work each day.

Bike looks awesome dude. Looks fast just sitting still

Where did you get the black radiator louvers?

Hey guys sorry been slacking on the posts.
SMV we have about just a couple skis around the shop ha the two blasters are my dads ones a GP boat and the other is a Spec boat I'll check and see if I have any pictures of his skis and motor. He builds all of this stuff and builds a lot of ski for people as well especially when they open his hood and see how everything is ran and wired through his electrical boxes that he makes. Then we have a couple kawi 800s a couple trinity 1100s should be getting a new SX-R soon then some old 550s and 650s a super rare hand laid fiberglass 550 hull from kawi a couple Yamahas my dad is building a square nose Yamaha now with a 701 in it couple hxs some X2s and some new sit downs at the lake needless to say our lake house is about 10 minutes from Monster Mountain in Alabama so I'll go rip in the morning then finish the day off ripping some buoys
