I was checking to see if any of you have tried bolting up an 83 RM 250 flywheel (they are heavier than the 82) into the 82 motor? I hear that a heavier flywheel will add a bit of low end grunt to the bike and make it a bit more manageable. I'm not sure if in fact they DO...

Thanks for the reply. My goal is simply to add a bit of flywheel weight to the 82 motor. Anybody know of a quick swap? Maybe thePE motor or flywheel off the 465? I iimagine I can have my current one modded with weight added. Anyone know a shop that wlds weights on? I checked with a few companys that...

Thank you for the reply. I had one ordered but they are on national back order, and meanwhile I keep reading on forums how the OEM unit is crap and other bikes had much stronger units that bolt right up, but can't find which models those might be.

THANKS guys. I bought the grey PVC pipe and will give that a try. I think Rob Boucher might have the best idea because the PVC is pretty thick compared to a bucket. I have the forks off the bike so I'll most likely tackle this job soon! Thanks again for the help guys

Well I've looked everywhere...I keep thinking I'm crazy because I can only find those '70's era foam protectors. I want the dark grey plastic protectors that DO NOT cover the drum, but just tape onto the lower fork legs... Any guidance would be great! THANKS
