Whoever advised you not to run synthetic oil is probably come one who I wouldn't take advice from. I wouldn't run anything but synthetic in any bike with a power valve. That said, as long as tuned for whatever you are running and mixed properly most modern premix's are decent. Not to say you can't but I wouldn't personally. I'm picky about setting so even buy my fuel from same places as much as I can. Don't get too wrapped up in the fact that a 2-stroke get's some spooge from pipe.
