SOHC Started a new thread 1990 KX 250 fix up.
5/15/2016 2:01am I got this 1990 KX250 cheep it had sand and water through the motor, there was no plating on the bore anymore and the gearbox was in parts and everything was rusty and dirty. 
Forks were corroded badly 
the end bearing in the gearbox was so warn it had damaged 2nd gear

2/25/2016 12:14pm They use the XR200 motors here in Junior speedway cars and Junior speedway solo bikes, its very hard to find motors and pars now

2/25/2016 1:03am This was my XR, I got it and rebuilt the motor, I fitted a bigger carb and some old glasspack muffler I found on the road, I thought the clutch was slipping in the high revs but it was wheel spinning, I was totally shocked at the power this little 200 made.

2/17/2016 12:44pm I am pretty happy with the pipe. Will trt the timing mark in the middle, I understand advancing and retarding the timing on a 2 stroke is way different to a 4 stroke

2/16/2016 11:54pm After repair, I used 50 to 60 PSI and the oxyacetylene to pop the dents out, made a tool form an exhaust clamp and bit of 3/8 plate, you need to get the dents very hot is the section close to the engine,

1/27/2016 11:15am They stopped doing cadmium plating in the 70s I think, the next closest looking is satin chrome, thats what they plate micrometers and verniers with. Bright zink is much more silver than cadmium plating.

8/10/2016 9:12pm My friend was able to grip the head in the big 4 jaw lathe. This is the worst head to try and do anything to the combustion chamber, it has an offset plug hole that is at an angle and its not round.

1/24/2016 10:05pm I have been waiting nearly 10 weeks for my pipe from Canada to come, it may take moths more I am told. I have removed the cylinder head and it is away being recut by a friend, other than that I am saving up for a clutch kit and chain and sprockets.

12/18/2015 11:29pm Its hard to see in the pick but are they monobloc or concentric carbs? You can get all the new reproduction parts for them.
