Ping's response alludes to a supercross focus and is valid insofar as supercross is concerned. However, the question seemed more generic to me and so warrants the thought of whether a top European rider could win the 250 or 450 U.S. National MX series in his first year attempt. I am reminded of Jeffrey Herlings's visit to the last national of the season in 2017 (Ironman National) and put in two moto wins with the 2nd moto particularly impressive as he recovered from an early crash to go from last to first. 7/29/2017 4:45pm It's been a rough month for world MX GP history. First Carlquist passes away and then Moiseev. Both were champions who I read about in the mx magazines many times. Their successes were admirable but equally so were their ruggedness which contributed to the reputation of that generation of European MX racers. Goodspeed to both. Thanks for the memories.

5/5/2017 11:28pm I can understand Marvin's decision at a pragmatic level but I can't help but harken back to the 1977 "Let Broc Bye [sic]" Yamaha team orders. Bet Hannah is still upset about it 40 years later.
