9/24/2019 1:39pm Crf250r I'm one of the lucky few that caught it before it exploded. The crank shaft side to side play ridiculously exsesive! Will new bearings fix the play or is the crank thrust washers worn?

12/18/2018 11:51am Picked up a 94 rm250 used. Had no piston. Bought new wiseco kit (67mm stock. 89-95 rm250 piston kit) for it. I I noticed a new hot rod crank rod in it as I installed the piston. Anyway I get it back together and the piston is about an eighth inch(1/8)high out of my cylinder. Now I checked the vin#...

Well, technically not "stock" since your new spacer requires an extra gasket which is a potential leak point...BUT...you are obviously a handy fella that digs making things work. Nothing but kudos for ya bro. Rip it.

12/17/2018 2:23pm Actually if you think about it all I'm doing is replacing the aluminum that was shaved off the bottom of my cylinder by PO. So if anything I am correcting a "Jerry rig" back to a stock setup...

12/17/2018 3:41am No that was suggested and ruled out long ago. it's actually because the cylinder base has been milled/shaved/serviced. The rod and piston are correct. I just didn't realize the squish band was considerably thinner than a stock cylinder but someone pointed out what most of us missed. Got it running last night. Now I need to jet the carb correctly...

12/16/2018 12:11pm May I suggest using a dremel or rotor cutting tool like for drywall but with a metal bit if anyone try this themselves because it sucked @$$ using a jigsaw. But it's done and will serve its purpose

Base of the cylinder has been milled off... that cylinder has been worked on before notice the 75 ground into the side... also look at the height between the engine displacement tag and the base compared to a stock cylinder..

12/16/2018 7:14am Cometic never answered back on my enquiring about making a base riser and I want to ride....... This should work but what you guys think. Jigsaw? I got cork gasket for bottom and top of it...or just paper gasket if my thickness target requires it....... Any opinions?
