Ryanb_196 Started a new thread YZ250 too loud
9/21/2024 8:23pm As title says, 2011 yz250, just a bit loud (still on stock exhaust). My preference I think it is a little loud, but I also ride at home and have to considers neighbors as well as my own family. So, what’s the quetiest silencer you can get for these things? Bike only has 40 hours, I would almost guess the...

9/12/2024 5:44pm I would guess the reason is to speed up the combustion as in a large bore cylinder it takes time for the flame front to travel from the center to the sides which gives the unignited charge more time to heat up and a risk of detonate.

7/24/2024 6:58pm To go from a used 125xc to a used 250xc is probably going to be over $1k. You might be able to sell the 125 xc and get an older used yz250 and break even.

7/24/2024 2:19pm I know I know, they’re good parents. They lend me the car and trailer all the time to go ride by myself.

7/24/2024 11:23am lol no. Bought the 125 new in full. I’d be at the dealer passing out pens to my parents if they were helping haha!

7/24/2024 7:02am The hole I see in your argument is that you want to sell a used 125, then buy a used 250 and have money left over for a truck. Just how much do you think you're going to get for your clapped-out 125XC? (That's not a dig at your maintenance skills, just an assessment of what every buyer everywhere is going to think - they'll offer you $1500 cash for that bike. "But it's CASH!!") I feel like if you break even on the swap from a 125 to a 250, you will have done well.

7/24/2024 6:59am It’s an option. One of my buddies is creating a kit himself. But, it’s probably another 1,000, im not sure I’d like to spend that money. From dyno graphs it doesn’t seem like it’s a big change in low end.

7/23/2024 4:59pm taking in account your age and the doubts you refer as to your ridding technics my advice to you is, invest a bit in yourself, do a couple of good ridding schools, get an idea of where you are at and set good targets to aim your ridding evolution.......then worry about the best bike to suit you.....now you have a great learning bike.... dirt bike ridding is always more rider then bike......

7/23/2024 3:00pm I’d love to continue to ride it, but for some of technical riding the low end really leave me feeling a little unsatisfied. I don’t ride Moto often, most weekends I’m on my own riding, I can’t sign waivers to get into tracks. But on the occasion I am riding one I have lots of fun hitting most jumps, but...

7/23/2024 2:51pm Hello! Currently, I am 16, I own a 23’ KTM 125 XC, since November 22’. My current dilemma is if I should upgrade to a 250 2 stroke? I ride just about everything in Michigan. Track, trial, sometimes some open roads to connect to some trails. I love my 125, but it is a little lacking low end and maybe...
