RACESTHILAIRE Added a reply to Yoshimura vs Motoworks

I've never used a motoworks system, but I can say we have used many yosh systems...and honda 250f and 450's always seem to have the most noticeable gains. I would try to do the full rs-4 system on your bike. I can sell you one at a killer deal if you'd like. Email me @ sthilairemx@metrocast.net

mxtech1 how are you getting those prices? You must be real close to a VP warehouse or those were leftover cans that the place you bought them couldn't get rid of. My cost on a pale of u4.4 is over $80 and I am a dealer

We do a lot of RM250 work. They are awesome bikes that can be tailored for just about any type of riding. From my prior experience here are my answers to your questions: 1.) YES you need atleast a 50/50 blend of race fuel. These bikes were built to run 94-96 octane non ethanol gas. You cannot get that at...

RACESTHILAIRE Added a reply to CR250 front fender conversion

It definitely does freshen up the look. That bike was a complete basket case build we did that came in with the handlebars snapped off, no rear fender, mud stained, etc. I think it turned out okay!
I would be looking at the right crank seal, not the left. Definately check power valve to make sure it is opening. Just remove the cover on side of the cylinder to check if it is opening. Won't explain white smokey exhaust but just another thing to check off the list. Is your oil milky white when drained? If the...

Clutch plates are one of those items that I feel are not worth reusing if I am rebuilding an entire engine. At 95 hrs, you have gotten more than a fair amount of life out of that clutch. For example, you could measure the piston that is in your bike right now and its possible it is within spec for...

We first scrub the frame with scotch bright and either simple green or dawn dish soap, then hand polish with a paper towel and mothers aluminum polish.

^^^Slipdog is right on point. Don't let skimping on $500 extra to replace all recommended parts cost you $2000 when your rod snaps and blows through the transmission and cases.

RACESTHILAIRE Added a reply to 10 and 12 inch wheel help

IRC TR-1 has a 4.00X10" size rear tire. Its a trials type tire. I know its a bit narrower than the stock tire but would probably work good and wouldn't have to change the wheel. If you want I can order one and ship it to you, probably cost about $10 to ship to NY from here in NH

At 95 Hrs, I would replace without question: -Crankshaft -Piston, rings, wrist pin -Valves, Valve Springs, cotters -Cam Chain -Main Crank Bearings -Oil seals -Water pump bearing and seals (Your bike requires a special tool to install the water pump mechanical seal) -Clutch springs -Clutch plates and fibers We would thoroughly inspect for wear: -Cylinder -Valve seats and guides (Valve...
