Pacdesign1 Added a reply to Simons forks setup
9/9/2016 1:18pm Thanks Newmann. I think Phil should be able to handle the machining for me. I am not sure why the CR application requires the lower triple clamp to be flipped.
Maybe a clearance issue? Looking at my lower clamp I see that it would also need machining (if flipped) to accommodate the Simons steering stem, as well as holes...

Pacdesign1 Added a reply to Simons forks setup
9/7/2016 7:34pm I have gone back and forth but decided to put them on the Honda. I forgot about Phil. I had him make me a silencer a few years ago. He does great work. I was mostly concerned with measuring everything accurately and getting the front wheel centered. Wasn't sure how precise that part needs to be? Also, I just realized...
Pacdesign1 Started a new thread Simons forks setup
9/7/2016 2:53pm A while back I bought a set of Simon's Forks hoping they may just bolt on to either a 77 CR125 or RM 125. Not sure what bike my forks were originally designed for but it appears that I will need to get a new steering stem fabricated as well as wheel spacers and a brake stay arm. Just wondering...

Pacdesign1 Added a reply to Silly KX Question
4/25/2014 2:58pm Thanks. actually I did not pay that much for the Fox shox. A nice set of stock shocks would probably sell for more money just because most of them were thrown out back in the day and they are unique to the 78 KX.

4/25/2014 11:50am 78-79 KX 125's and 250's are out there but you have to keep your eye out. I have one of each (125's) and they are great. The 79 is suppose to be a better bike. I have ridden both just a lap or two and couldn't tell much difference. The bike in the photos is going to be a racer...

4/25/2014 7:40am I think i was almost all the way to the inside near the top of the photo. In the other pic I am "eclipsed" by the guy in the red jersey next to the #2 Yamaha...I think that is Paul Johnstone! I am in the white jersey with orange sleeves. Not my best day of racing, but a lot of...

Bobby, The Ossa that Burner races is a 74 Phantom (8) with typical 74 suspension. And yes, it is a blast to watch Scott ride that thing. My Phantom (9) is more or less the same except that the rider is somewhat lacking in the skill department! Keith Lynas built both bikes to a very high level.

4/24/2014 2:44pm Believe it or not most of the YZ 100's all put out about the same power. MT allows updated suspension, frame mods, disc brakes and pretty much what ever you want other than water cooling. They usually put the intermediates, experts and pros at the same gate and they are all pretty equal to the first turn and in the...

4/24/2014 12:21pm I am not sure about the 2 strokes. Up to 150 cc's 4 strokes are allowed to race the 100 class now. The rules changed some this year but mostly regarding suspension. We are having a race this Sunday at the Ranch (Carlsbad replica track) and I will ask Marty.
