For people who don’t like/appreciate big jumps or moguls the sport for you is tiddlywinks. When your a pro you don’t see bigger jumps as dangerous or scary, you see them as a good time to relax and take a breather. Huge props to the Goat RC for this one, this was perhaps the best racing all season. Watching Austin Forkner in qualifying clip the quintuple than blitz the whole rest of the straight rythem was the best thing I’ve seen all year, I do agree that was dangerous but nice to see some of his next level skills that...

I think it’s funny that Daytona is either to easy and boring from the pro riders perspective like in the last few yrs ( minus last). Or that’s what Brayton said last yr. or it’s too hard and scary and dangerous according to fans watching this year. Personally I like to see hard, difficult tracks for the pros. They are the best riders in the world and should be challenged from the tracks. We all grow up riding harder and harder tracks and learning our limits. Just because they are pros doesn’t mean they shouldn’t know what their limits are...

My friend and I were just talking about this very thing today. We both started racing in the late 90s and were talking about how much less prep work they did just back then to the track after practice started. I’m all for a good show for the fans and say prepping the triple and finish but beyond that just leave it alone. It would make things more difficult and in my opinion make the top guys stand out more. They’d be able to come through the pack more easily at the start of the main and potentially be able...

I have been following/watching SX since the early 80’s and it seems to me that each year the tracks have become smoother and have started to look like roads. What about ripping the tracks to make them deeper? Yes it would cause more ruts but I believe it would also slow them down. Just my $0.02.

I'd like to see an actual experiment run to see if it would work. Not convinced shorter knobs would do much, less traction would make tires spin more probably negating any benefits. Also don't think this is a easy simple solution if it will take years and significant money to implement. I'll never knock a guy for thinking outside of the box though.

I think this is a terrible idea. One I don’t think it would do much good. If the dirt is soft enough to rut up badly, smaller knobs won’t do much to slow it. Part of the issue when the track ruts bad is the dirt is too soft and wet and it actually pushes deeper from the weight of the bikes and force of them going through the rut. Notice the pic at the start of this article. The tire knobs are shown to not be digging in very far and I’d assume the rut changes each lap, getting...
