I say let the 2 strokes race with the 4 strokes. If you think there is no tech gap between the 2, go back to the early days of 4 strokes at supercross, and how 1 by 1 the die hard 2 stroke rider had to jump ship to keep up .......

Agree they handle great, but comparing this bike to new generation 4 strokes, is a joke. As soon as the 1998 Yz400f came out, The 2 stroke began to die ! R&D money started going in another direction. So if were comparing this bike to a 2012 bike, I'd say there is no comparison. See what James thinks at 2:25...

Had an 07 also, Probably should have just kept that bike, but way back then i just had to have a new bike every year Boy how things in your mind change so quickly when you get older. Almost bought the 09 CRF when they first came out, best move i never made.

I'm still riding my 08 CRF450, I've had opportunities to ride newer bikes and every time i do, my bike feels as good or better than the new bikes. Having said that, i would not mind owning any 2012 bike !
