I’d hone it a little and see what it looks like and then probably run it if there were no edges on any of the pitts especially in the path of your ring gaps. Proper way would be to bore it or sleeve it.

Personally, I have used emery cloth on heads but I don't think I would use it on a cylinder other than to see if it removed in a very small spot. I wouldn't clean it up with one. There is no way you would keep it round. If it did look like it would clean it up, it wouldn't hurt to do a couple swipes with a ball hone. That would sharpen your ports a little but you might like it better. I'm 2/3rds shade tree 3/3rds tight ass.

Cool and yes, that's what I was talking about. Obviously couldn't see in the picture but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen one bumped over inadvertently.

99 KX250 Engine Rebuild. While rotating, the idle gear slightly clicks against the shift shaft spring. It does not hinder rotation, only makes a soft click from the idle gear teeth brushing against the spring. The shift shaft is fully inserted and the idle gear was installed with the shouldered side facing inward. Is this normal? Any help would be...
