The 90 Perimeter SR500 were so bad that Kawasaki went back to the traditional KX500 frames for the 91 season.

For the 90 season Kawasaki decided to run a Works KX500 using the all new perimeter frame of the KX250. The problem with a perimeter design is that it has very little room for additional fuel so at the early rounds the factory team ran this ridiculous tank with a ball busting addition to the top of the tank.

I personally don’t want to see a bunch of fast amateurs with a pro license (a.k.a.gate fillers) in a pro race that are very seldom on the same lap as the leaders... I would rather watch only 10 riders in a race that are actually capable of winning than see a bunch of riders that are just in the way of the real pro’s! The sport is in bad enough shape as it is without having a bunch of gate fillers in the way of the guys who are actually in the race....... (As far as I’m concerned you are...
