I posted this in the other thread. My brand new 22 and 24 had play in the rear suspension, about a 1/4" at the rear wheel. Once the play becomes more, I replace shock bearings, usually around 25 hours.

This is great info to know. I was considering replacing the lower shock bearing, but knowing this, I may hold off until it worsens. Again, it seems that a slight bit of up and down is normal. Thanks again!

I appreciate your thoughts, and knowing that you've replaced the top shock bearing only to have the play come back is great info, so thank you! Again, it may have been that way, but I just never noticed. It took by surprise, as I put everything together only to notice the slight bit of up-and-down movement.

Thanks willbilly, "Thanks for your feedback. The bike has 15 hrs (14.8) on it, and I just never really noticed it before repacking the bearings. Again, perhaps it was always there, I just didn't notice it.

For those that have a 2020-2023 KX 450, I am curious if your bike also does this. Also curious if other models might does this as well. With the bike on the stand, grab the rear wheel and lift. Do you get any move intial movement out rear shock? I was told this is normal, but not so sure. Thanks

Need some guidance. I have a '22 KX 450 with 14 hrs and I decided to tear it down and repacked the linkage bearings. I noticed when I pick up the rear wheel there is a slight bit of play. Hard to tell exactly, but seems to be coming from the top of the shock. Nothing side-to-side, just up and...

FC450 Started a new thread EVS Hex Pro Knee Pads

3/30/2022 12:02pm
So I just purchased the EVS Hex Pro Knee pads and I am bit skeptical. The new technology with the Hex impact being CE EN level 1 protection blows me away. It is so soft and flexible. Has anyone used or tried these knee pads? My fear is if I go down, will it protect me. Thanks in advance! Mike

FC450 Started a new thread 2022 Honda CRF 450R Inner Hub Clutch Basket Torque Spec?

Help! I've replaced my clutch and installed a new inner hub into the basket but I'm the owners manual does not indicate the proper torque spect for this. I see was able to find the Rekluse hub is torque at 50ft-lbs, but this is an OEM inner hub. I was able to find that that the 2020 was has a...

To preface, I had one on my '18 FC 450 and loved it! So I purchased one for my '22 Honda and it just felt completely different; almost like a small flywheel weight was added to the clutch. I tried different springs/wedges, and played with idle adjustment and just could not get it to my liking. Again, its a great...
Hey Meister, Sorry for the delay. I tried the Rekluse RadiusCX and did not like it, so I put OEM clutch back in. Now my bike is randomly stalling for NO reason all at (it was also stalling with Rekluse). It will start fine, then randomly stall on the stand then is difficult to start again. I just replaced the...

FC450 Started a new thread 4.8 Rear Spring for 155lbs rider too much???

Ok, so I need come guidance... I have a 2017 FC 450, and I had had my shock serviced and the bladder and spring were replaced, and they also changed the valving. My question is, I weigh 150-155lbs (without gear) and that seems a bit much for what I've read. Could they have changed the valving or run different oil...

FC450 Started a new thread Help! Valve gasket or Cylinder Gasket?

6/8/2020 4:23pm
Any thoughts or guidance would be greatly appreciated! I've got a '17 FC 450 with 22hrs. It has recently started to run hot (203F) and feels like the bike loses power. According to the Factory Effex temp stickers on the Cylinder. The oil is clear as it should be, and the coolant also appears normal. I do notice a bit...

Thanks KB228 & CarlinoJoeVideo, The question becomes, how difficult would this be to replace. I have the service manual, and have replaced top-ends and such on 2s trokes, but have not really dove into the 4strokes yet, other than clutches etc.

I am replacing my Clutch Slave with an OEM unit, and there appears to be a C-clip or collar around the top plunger/diaphragm. Should I remove this or leave this in? I'm not sure if it was there for shipping etc? Thanks in advance! Mike
