4/26/2020 9:12am After procrastinating for quite a number of years, I am going to offer Curnutt Shock rebuilds at a very reasonable price. I worked for Chuck Curnutt from 1975 till 1982 in all aspects of his factory. I know a little about the shocks.
I can rebuild your shocks that are in rebuildable condition. If you can not tell contact me...

8/28/2019 2:29pm Hi Roy, Those look to be in really great shape. I can change the valving somewhat to what seems to work over the stock set up. As far as a heavier spring....no. But I can upgrade the smaller black spring with a heavier one that makes a significant difference. Email me at scotmarian@aol.com and we can go from there. Scott

2/14/2019 2:11pm I have a can of the original color red for the twin pipe CZs. I was mixed for me about 3 years ago. Not sure how quick you are needing the info, but in a couple of weeks I could take it for a color analysis and send you the mixture. I assume that paint stores can take a sample, scan it and get the mixture of colors. There seemed to be two reds for the twin pipe. A semi-dark red and the orangish red. I have twin pipe tanks with both colors. I think I also have the correct...

5/12/2018 9:10am Sounds ok to me. I would paint the bodies a grey color just because they came that way stock. Chevy engine red is a good color for the springs. Interesting factoid of Curnutt colors, there was or is no official color of the bodies or springs. They changed weekly depending on what paint we had. They could be a little...

Chayzed Pilot Started a new thread Old School CZ 400
11/12/2017 10:37am I just got done going through this bike. It was built for the 1981 CZ World Championships in SoCal back then. It has a 9 port cyclinder, D&H reed valve, porting by Gary Mickles (RIP), obviously Simons forks, Magnum pipe, Buchanan spokes, and a host of other cool things done to it. It is basically new.

11/12/2017 10:37am We used to get people stopping by the shop all the time which wasn't a big deal. We gave them the tour. Curnutt closed up back in the 80's except for the car shock stuff which he was doing himself. The mountain bike shocks were down in the LA area through Charlie Jr. Scott

7/10/2017 11:49am I had heard a few months ago he hadn't passed. Thanks for confirming he is still around. I used his pipes on all my CZ'S.

9/29/2016 11:05am The black wire should go to the upper coil. That is the "hot" wire from the ignition. Did you time it correctly?
