7/26/2021 3:32pm They're based on lap times. X axis is winner's mean lap, so every lap where riders exceed winner's mean lap time their line would rise (and vice versa). This should provide pretty accurate representation of a race without actually watching it (I will never miss though 😄). Dean Wilson must have felt pretty lonely in moto 1.
