All plastics been used in this restorations are NOS or in some cases originals restored , nothing at all is aftermarket even the tires are nos from 1980 ,all seat covers are originals too The RM80 and KX80 decals are specially replicated by www.bdesigns.ca ,the best designer for any vintage custom decals in Canada ,the YZ80 tank decals are replica too ,side panels number 80 decals are NOS All cylinders are NOS ,with the exception of the YZ80 that is the original with new Yamaha Std piston and rings All hardware have been zinc plated and chromated in original colors...

I'm certainly no expert on these matters, but I'd concur with many of the points made in this thread, but also add; How easy is a given bike to restore and how much $$$? If the parts are very hard to come by, or have to be handmade, that could affect the value. How odd or unique is the bike...

I would expect any competent automotive dent repair person should be able to remove most dents from a tank. They do pretty good work on cars and often are able to access difficult to reach areas.

Hi Martin - I'm new on this forum. Have read several of your threads on your restos. Amazing work! I had a 1980 CR 80 when I was a kid and have recently acquired a good candidate for a restoration. I'd prefer to do this one up for display, as opposed to riding it. Any suggestions before I dig into...
