Yep great points @Minus_2, that makes sense to me more now than before I started this thread. In fact I should probably update my view point a bit to acknowledge that due to all of the limitations in console game development, this title in my opinion is really really good. I don't care for the gonzo AI and a few...

I just downloaded MX Unleashed on my xbox the other day. I'm having way more fun playing that than the newer games.

That makes sense @zehn. I do hope he'll see this and chime in. I'd be curious to see if this idea would have merit: Could the studio release a "shell game" with the ability to download your desired game play/niche? I'm completely guessing, but I would assume that the majority of overhead and risk comes in the form of producing...

I guess my point was that further segmenting an already highly segmented and niche title would be a non-starter. I know at least one of the devs that works for Rainbow posts here occasionally, maybe he can chime in. Getting the best return by releasing one title versus 3 is 100% the reason they do it

The whole series is just bad, to be honest. None of them ever were even close to realistic. Motocross Madness back in the day was pretty cool, for what it was. The MESX and MXGP games are much better (but not perfect by any means) in my opinion. It would be cool to have the Nationals but I just can't spend money on a game from MX Vs ATV series again.

Clearly you've never developed and sold a game that caters to a niche community

You're correct. My long-winded point there was that a collection of titles versus one 'catch-all' would logically create a better return. If I'm wrong I accept that. In my defense I don't have any idea how large or resourceful Rainbow is. Perhaps the proof is in the games that they release. Meaning, in order to get the best return, they're...

I started mx gaming with Motocross Madness on a shitty old PC. It was absolute bliss. The tracks, the sound effects... UH!! The best. Game play got both better and worse over time but when Alive hit, I was like, ok they finally nailed the physics. This is incredibly fun again. And then the next title (don't even know what...

Loretta Lynn 2020 is the most realistic feeling track I've ever played in a video game. Seems the scaling is a bit smaller than some of the other tracks (closer to real), and it makes you have to ride the 450 like you really would, i.e., not pinned all the time. Railing through some of the tight back to back berms and getting it right is so satisfying. What a great game this has become.

Alive was most definitely the most enjoyable in terms of physics. With the FPS view in All Out, mixed with the physics of Alive, I'd have to be surgically removed from my game chair. Uh! That would be so freak'n awesome. I also really appreciate the finesse required in All Out but the moon gravity, the random "pulling" into obstacles...
