So my brother, Marc made the Carlsbad Raceway track my dad, Stu built back in the 60's at his track in Anza, The Ranch. He had the blueprints from my pops and it's identical, this week he's hauling in the clay to give it the same, well I'm sure it'll take a few months but to give it the hard pack that CB had. We have Devils Drop, the downhill, all of it. Marc has been working night and day for the past month and it will be opening this weekend, May 6th, 7th & 8th...for more info go to theranchanzaca.com

Thanks

If it were closer to Vegas I would love to check that out...this week but my itinerary is packed to go much further than Needles, Cal

Looks great though, hope you get a well deserved turn-out.

That's a great idea, except for the part about duplicating the hard-pack. Pinch

I'll definitely make visiting your wonderful facility a priority.

When will Saddleback and Escape Country be ready to ride? Cool

Sondy, looks like your brother is really putting a lot of time and effort into this. Post up some pics when it's completed.

Might as well toss in O.C.I.R. and Ascot, too.

They won't take up much room.

I seem to remember it being out in Pomona off the 60...

But I'm getting old, and have bumped my head a few times over the years.

Riding hard pack is a lost art form. Glad to see it coming back in style. Wish there was at least one hard pack track on the National circuit.

Maybe you can have American Sports Cavalcade com out and televise it. (Sorry all my memories of Carlsbad are from the tele.)

Since we are in request mode ..... Indian Dunes would be on the list also for me. Ed I always thought Osteen was off the 57, but you could get there off the 60 too, never went there.

I loved that track. Only raced there once back in the day (CMC). Later in life, I rode a couple Christmas GPs and went all the time when they were running those practice days towards the end.... Can't wait to check out the reincarnation!!!

( It wouldn't be the same without the hardpack.)

Wanted to make mention my brother, Marc, found 40 rolls of Snow Fencing (hard to find in CA) in Bakersfield and my dad is going to drive up there tomorrow to pick it up, so it will have the look of the 70's too !

Sondra,
Don't go to much 70's... those wooden outhouses were not what you call ideal. EB-

osteen's was on the north side of the 60 freeway just south of highway 71 about 1 mile east of the 57 freeway. now that area is known as philips ranch. i rode there a few times 1970.
