It was all Eli tonight. Hansen tried one of his patented take out moves only to find if you live by the sword you die buy the sword.

I guess that is a good way of putting it,Carlos.
I think someone said a while back on here that his aggressive type riding(stuffing & taking guys wide that got near him) was eventually going to bite him back and cost him this championship. I guess it has got to be a hard lesson learned for him?
From his twitter after the race...

If you listen to the post race Tomac interview he quite clearly states that he knew there was a good chance (going on history) Hansen would run it in hard. As a result he cut down harder himself than normal and scuppered Hansen's plans. There's a lot to be said for staying under the radar at times. I mean you could perform the most low, dirty, back stabbing, disgraceful pass imaginable on Hansen right now and almost everyone (certainly a fair few) would say he had it coming! That's not a good reputation to have or in fact position to put yourself in - not for a title.
Not to beat up too hard on the guy, he's ridden really well this year, as well as riding in pain.
And I hope Mitch will hang on to him because he's got speed and is a good bet for next year.
He obviously really wanted this championship.
I'm sure he has got to be pretty bummed ,but I assume at the same time understands where he went wrong in SLC and not only admitted to it,but also apologized.
Hopefully he can go into Vegas next weekend with a clear head and end this season on a good note with a West main win and possibly win or get a podium in the shootout.
He has always done well on hard pack.
Kid is living on borrowed time in this industry.
I like him but he has a screw loose somewhere.
However ,I must agree I would like to see him race year around.
With X being gone and possibly the series down under being gone,it would be nice to see him do all
the SX Euro events in the off season, like Bercy etc...and then come back next year here on a 450 on a team like H&H and do a full season.
I would check the rulebook, but it seems to change frequently.
But hopefully he goes 450 for a full season next year.
Apologies with his track record,
nah
i dont buy it.
I can almost guarantee that Hanny will be on an H&H bike if he steps up to the 450.
Pit Row
Is it really true he can ride the lites again next year???
