Took me forever to find that . I love that video. I would love to see these two go at it one more season.

I guess if i were a fan of a rider that i never get to watch race, i'd keep reminding myself of something that happened 6 plus years ago too..... Ya know Reed did dislocate his should the week before and he did beat Stewart straight up that year as well.
This season James obviously needed surgery, and still beat Reed.
Digging up 6 years ago to try and make a point is silly....... now you should like Hillary Clinton LMAO how old was James...? 13?14? Chad a seasoned pro and about 21? LOL
Heard it on DMXS last night.
Jimi J
But, you're right!
If he can (finally) learn that it's better to accept a top 3 place and come back stronger next week than it is to go for the win and crash yourself out of the entire season, then he should win a couple more titles before he retires.
If he continues to ride like a character from "Top Gun" then he'll continue to rack up wins without titles. So far he's won 1 out of 7 since he moved up which is piss poor for a guy with his talent. If he can't work out what he's doing wrong by this point then he doesn't deserve any more titles - but I have a feeling that this time he's gonna come back and ride with a little more intelligence and a little more respect for the opposition - I hope so because even though I don't really like the guy I think it would be a shame if he quit before he won a national outdoor title.

1. It's always cool to see young people with so much talent. Seeing James ride like he did at that age was very, very exciting. That crazy thing is that you could show up at the big races in the SE and see the fastest on the planet on a 125 and he wasn't even a Pro.
2. At that point people were saying "Reed can beat him no problem if he gets a start." That is the one time that I can think of that a rider forgot about the win and decided to give the people what they wanted..................a head-to-head battle.

Hmm could be me but I seem to think they have the same amount of championships and reed's had what 4 years to collect more than James? It could also just be me but Stewart's Championships are alot more impressive than Reed's.
Personally, I think him being gone would be good for the sport. Without him around you have a handful of riders capable of winning the races. Parity is good and needed for the sport. We needed someone like McGrath to be a superstar to help the sport grown. Now that we are getting some recognition, we need parity to make it exciting.
We all know that James could go out there and smoke everyone while only running at just 70%. But really, how much fun is that? Next year's SX will be boring if he is there. Why? Because every race he will run around just fast enough to maintain a 5 to 10 second lead. No fun if you ask me.
