Matthes wrote it in Racerhead. I wonder if it will be just a factory bike with funding from Honda or will he be pitted out of the Honda semi.

Thanks,guys.

- I posted something on Twitter yesterday wondering what Honda would do for the outdoors with Canard probably missing a few races, and from what Eric Kehoe told me, Josh Grant won’t be ready at the start either. I predicted that they would park their truck when none other than Chad Reed made a comment to make me think he might be under the factory tent for the motocross season. Then I got a text from “someone who knows things” who said, “Done deal, Reed’s on the factory team for the entire outdoors” so I guess we’ll see.

- Still in the rumor department, I hear that Stewart’s getting his outdoor program into shape and will be doing the entire motocross season. That’s what some people on his team are telling other people, so let’s hope that’s true.

Oh man, mixed feelings on this one!

Of course, factory anything is an amazing opportunity for any rider. But damn I'd like to see him see his team through! Would be awesome to see what happens when Chad decides to slow it down. I was thinking (hoping actually) that since he's raced in Europe, he'd seriously consider some GP guys for his American team. Maybe take a different perspective in choosing riders (kinda like DeCoster). Could totally mix things up!

Agreed, and it would benefit him to have his current crew.

full factory support for two-two motorsport's 2 rider team...............maybe, could be, possibly a deal that is considered a good chance of being possible

I don't know...
The rumor read, "under the factory tent".
It would be cool if he was able to keep his team for the nationals with full factory Honda support,a salary & also bonuses.
But one would think if Honda is forking out some cash ,they want him/his bike looking all factory and under their tent, with a contract on their terms.

With all that went on before this season, how Reedy seemed to want things his way and would settle for nothing lest, how he put his own deal together.....It just doesn't make sense to me that he would cross the street and go to the other tent. Especially when Team Red seems to keep a tight ship. Not saying Matthes is wrong or don't know shit, his rumors are normally the most solid !! I can red his articles all damn day......But even the Michelin man can get a lined crossed ;-) I still say its FULL factory honda support under the twotwo tent, I also say that factory support started the day TC slammed........but then again, I am a dumb as hillbilly quad rider who doesn't know shit right ? LOL

Bottom line, I can only hope the outdoors can live up to insane "spectator expectations" that the indoors have produced !!

Good for Reedy. I don't think he's a favorite for the title, but he'll give it all he has, he's great with the fans, and it's always great to have vets out there mixing it up. I can't think of anyone that Honda could have hired who'd be better, that's for sure.

I totally understand what you are saying.
He also said earlier in the SX season that he was working on getting sponsors lined for the outdoors and said he wanted to do them if he was able to. So like you are saying, maybe Honda jumped on board....and they are gonna foot the bill ,plus bonuses etc..
Who knows?
It will be cool to see how it all works out.

For Reed I hope its his semi and full factory support. He earned A lot of respect putting a team together on his own and then going out and doing what he has done !! I do think that he would have been faster from A-1 if he had full factory support, that might be so for the outdoors. Cannot wait until Hangtown

hmmm......i would rather see him do it outta the twotwo truck with the honda support.

but if the rumor is leaning otherwise...so be it. my understanding of honda is that they hate seeing one of their satellite teams win in place of the factory squad. not sure why but its always been the case in motogp and i suspect its the case here.

who's spot is he taking? or are they planning a 3 man team when canard and grant come back?

i guess the pourcel dream is done? last i heard he was signed to kawi and its a done deal anyways. 3 man team.

Hopefully the bikes are just full factory bikes, but he still stays under his own tent. I still want to see the Two Two truck at the races.

Bel Ray is only for the supercross season.

Can't see him pissing on his 22 sponsors like that. I would say just a bigger Honda logo on his shirt, bike and truck. And a few bits and pieces that come with that.

Good on Honda giving him a chance. They must need a tax write off or something. Again. CP is a better choice. Just saying.

Chad is in the drivers seat...
he's earned the right to ask Honda to bring their support to Twotwo motorsports
nothing wrong with factory guys working under the Chads rig... it's about winning a championships and and thats what Honda wants anyways.

I thinks it's better for Honda for Chad to win on a bike that pretty much is avaliable to the public. That is the best selling tool you can have . A bike that is not Factory that can still win that's the ultimate compliment to Honda oh and Chad

I'm certainly no expert but my guess is that the only difference between Chad's bike and Trey's bike are the shroud graphics. I would be very curious to know if my guess is correct.
