GrapeApe is right. And on top of that, it's not even about the education. It's living a normal life. A lot of those kids don't live normal lives. They spend hours with their parents at the track and never have time to just hang out and be a kid.

I'm not going to sit back and act like going to public school made me a genius, but it definitely shaped who I am today.

Plus, though I've met some REALLY great people at the tracks, it's also not difficult to run into some terrible role models there too. So if the track on the weekends is your only interaction with people, you may be in for a rude awakening come real life.
yeah, just like in the real world... You guys kill me... You ought to zip it about stuff you are clueless about...
for every example given there is another opposite...

there is nothing positive about the public school system. i commend any parent who has the sense to get their kid as far away from that lemming factory as possible.

So you would commend a parent that is totally unqualified to educate a child for pulling that child out of public school for the sole purpose of getting more track time for little Johnny? There are parents that are qualified to home school, and parents that do it for the right reasons, but they are hard to find in amateur motocross. I hope I haven't offended the 1% of moto families that have elected to home school for the purpose of a superior education.

It's called independent studies. You go in once a week where there are qualified teachers, and you teach yourself everything. Then each week you take a test to make sure you didn't bullshit your way through it. It's not HOME SCHOOLED WITH MOMMY AND DADDY or PUBLIC SCHOOL. There's other options that are just as good.

How much have we heard about Adam C being the next RCand look at his LLs career so far... It's dumb to call someone a superstar...

Maybe you have not heard, but he has done things at LL's that those two did not. Winning both 85 titles as a 10 year old for one. I think he has 7 LL's title to date. (I think) RC had 9 and James 11, I would say he is keeping pace so far.

I see others like to compare him with Cooper, and I would say that is a compliment! You do need to remember he is almost 2 years younger then Cooper, in fact, most of his competition has come from much older kids. AC has raced above his age group for 2 years now. In no way would I ever put Cooper down, he is a fantastic rider with a solid career ahead of him. But, you should check the lap times at the last national (Alabama) before making your decision on who is rolling right now.

None of these kids are guaranteed anything, but if I were a betting man, my money is on AC to have a standout career as a professional MX/SX racer. I would say the same about Cooper Webb as well.

As for the schools these kids attend, You need to stop thinking home school is easy! Cooper's mom is a teacher and he is allowed to miss more school then the average kid would be allowed. I am not guessing here when I say home school can be more difficult then public. I have 2 kids who have attended both. And I am telling you right now, if my kids attended public school it would lighten their work load. Again, not to disrespect any student, rider or parent.

Note: Carson Mumford is an awesome kid!

6 LL's titles? Not sure your numbers are right, but you did say "I may be wrong". And dr519, AC did not race during his 7 year old year on a 50. If I am not mistaken, and I know I am not, AC only won once at LL's on a 50, same for Stilez (so far).

I was referring to armature titles combined not just LL and I know AC skipped his 7 year old year. 325 may have a title on 65s that is what I am not sure of. Is it even possible to win 6 LL 50 titles?

What happens when these kids turn 16, are BMOC's at their high school since they are so fast, and now are pulling hotties left and right? Or mayb they cant pull them hotties and spend too much time going out trying? Seen it before!

Possible? Highly unlikely for sure. Let's say we had super baby on a pw. He wins the championship when he is three (the first year the AMA allows him to race), backs it up at four years old. Then jumps to the 4-6 peewee class. Promptly wins that class at five and six years old before moving on to the 7-8 class. He tops off his 50cc domination by winning both years in that class before ageing out.
I could be wrong, but I am NOT, nobody has ever done that!

Stilez may be closing in on the most 50 titles. But remember he did race a year longer, did races like Dodge and the Amateur Open. Not discrediting little Stilez at all, just pointing out the facts. Not sure, but Jordan Bailey is up there in the category of "wins on a 50 for $1000, Alex".

Huh?

You must mean the next MC and GOAT.

JS7 is still "In-Process" and could beat -1- or BOTH of their records.

Beyond that?

Maybe Barcia?

Maybe RD? RV? Trey?

Hell, Sipes is on Fire and could cause some serious problems on a 450!

Wait, you can't race AMA until you are four. So NO, you can not win 6 title on a 50.

did you not read what i wrote? i'll expand on it and make it clearer...

im of the opinion that the school system itself is a joke. its about conditioning the youth. actually getting an education has very little to do with the actual curriculum. its 100% about learning to stand in line, follow orders, and respect pseudo authority figures. plug into the matrix and learn to act as a lemming thru life.

i dont think a kid gets any less of an education at the track than he does in school. and thats not cause i think you get a great education at the track, its cause i think that poorly of the school system.

do home-schooled kids come out of it a lil socially awkward, sure, no doubt. but thats about the only inherent negative about homeschooling that i see.

i was homeschooled afterschool for 3 hours a day all the way thru elementary school because my mom didnt trust the school system. this was done all after i went to public school for the day. public school was for making friends and learning social skills. and when i got home, i got more done in just those 3 hours than i did all week in the classroom. its why i was doing algebra by the 4th grade.

do all homeschooled kids actually get pushed? do they actually learn anything? in my experience, hell no. the majority of them get shorted really bad. but do they get shorted any more than the kids who go the public school system route, not imo. the public school system is a joke.
