Just something for everyone to think about before you pass judgement. I know a lot of police officers, they are people, meaning there are good ones and there are bad ones with big cop ego`s. I have seen things like this happen before and the person not be guilty of anything other than poor judgement. If JS has flashing lights on his dash or where they can be seen from the front of the vehicle that is poor judgement, if a car was behind me going down the road with flashing lights I would slow down and start to pull over. I dont think JS was trying to pull them over but the cops took it that way. Does anyone on here have the balls to pull someone over and walk up to the car? It takes some. On the tv report they said JS pulled up beside them going down the road( I would say passing them and they pulled back up to him). At that point they flashed a badge or as it says the driver identified himself as a police officer( with out lights, siren, or voice, it really means nothing) he does not have to stop.I would not stop if someone pulled up beside me and flashed a badge, it will mean nothing in court. As far as the passenger tampering with evidence, it did not become evidence untill he was arrested , so that charge will be thrown out.If JS would have flashed a badge or had any police paraphernalia( badge ,uniform, hat )in his vehicle then it would be bad, but flashing lights is not impersonating and will never stick. They can write you a ticket or charge you with anything but making it stick is a diff. ball game. Yes JS will have to go to court and spend some money on a lawyer but I dont think pulling a car over was ever his intention. I am not a big JS fan but I do respect him and love to watch him ride a bike. And like I said there are good cops and bad one`s. I think he just got two bad ones that once they realized he was not pulling them over it pissed them off. JMO
Cops will never give the whole story.
I would bet they were doing the usual asshole cop deal of driving 2mph less than the speed limit in the fast lane and wouldn't GTFO of the way.

I know it was a dumb move.....but he hasn't had much luck lately either!

(I'm not saying the cop car was the first one they tried to pull over either)

But the only thing that would have been funnier than them pulling over off duty cops would have been if they pulled over JLaw...

Yeah, but you gotta think that the Tundra he was driving is worth around 75k or so, if not more.

Watch the video on RacerX's website....the police tell the story. They did make the car pull over to shout something at them out the window about needing to slow down. It was obviously a sophomoric stunt that backfired on them. Bigtime.

Still doesn't show when he has to go to court, but this should show court dates when updated.

Rado's charges are a 2nd degree felonly...worse then James 3rd degree felony.

They were playing road games with him too so they also knew he wasn't a cop so maybe pulling over was a "procedural" thing to stick him with that charge.

I don't know if blue lights is enough to impersonate a cop but the cops even admit they didnt think he was a cop.

However, you are out to lunch. What they did is akin to throwing snowballs at cars as they go by and pegging off a off-duty police car in the windshield. Stupid lame-ass kids stuff.

By the time the lawyers are done with this, it should amount to nothing, considering you can kill someone in this country and barely have to do any time for it.
Do you have any idea how many women have been raped by people who had police lights and pulled them over? The police and courts take this kind of thing very seriously and they should.

Why is that?
1k in bail, 10k in lawyer fees,if it doesn't go to trial.
Many millions in the bank, not to mention many, many assets plus investments....
This is a small road bump, but James is under the big light, that is why this is being talked about/covered.

Unlike many on Vital, and apparently Stewart, some cops and a lot of DA's have a lick of common sense. They can distinguish pretty quickly between dumb asses and bad guys.

If they do nothing else he's been made an example enough by the publicity under the circumstances. If it plays out the way it looks now, he's likely to be spanked, but not shot.

Ya that was a pretty "feeble" attempt and discrediting James. Dry

That is where they also have a problem. With as much publicity as this has recieved, if they let him off with a fine and a slap on the wrist it makes them look soft. To everyone else it looks like James bought himself out of a felony.

you're missing my point. it's just the trend of big lifestyle and big ego that bankrupts alot of pro athletes after they retire. stewart wont be any different if he doesn't take things down a notch; honestly, if he's financially stable, then great! however, he's 24 years old and MAYBE has4-6 years left racing. i wasn' referring to the current issue, but if he gets off with a slap on the wrist, he won't learn any lesson and do something stupider next time. bank on that.

Yeah....
He doesn't really have a record....just a few traffic citations which is the norm.
He may lose his license for a while also.

Can always count on you to have the same common sense. In reality the statute has a few subsections that easily apply to James and therefore could make it a misdemeanor....
Many here don't realize to go to trial you first have to be indicted by the Grand Jury. Highly doubtful any evidence warranting that in this case.
And then we have pre-trial intervention..it goes on and on.
Remember in the United States (unlike in the world of Vital) you are innocent until proven guilty!! Tongue

I'm not missing "your point"....because nothing you said is valid or can be proven, even statistically.

Plenty of "big lifestyle and big ego athletes" do just fine after retirement, only a small percentage seem to fail, and drugs & outside influences are a big part of the reason.
James leads a pretty simple lifestyle of a normal average multi-millionaire.
In fact so simple,he didn't hire a limo to take his buddy to the airport...James drove him, himself.

As for him learning not to play stupid illegal pranks or break the law.....
I'm sure when he was put in cuffs at the airport that was a lesson well learned....not to mention going to jail or having to deal with the backlash and all the negative media.

Also,if it has nothing to do with this recent arrest....why did you wait til now to post he was going to be bankrupt?

You're assuming people in general are going to pay attention to this for longer than five days.

It's not about buying one's way put of anything. DA's and Judge's generally don't go about wrecking first offenders, whatever their resources, in a situation like this.

But I guess any dispute about this in the genius pool here depends on what people judge to be a slap on the wrist or harsh.

I can tell you personally that most state court criminal court rooms are like clubs. 90% of the defense attorneys work it daily with the DA's and the judges and all know one another pretty well and work together well. There's a pretty good grasp of what's going to happen in a situation that deals with it proportionately. The sheer volume of it demands it.
