And why do we have to watch RV riding around in last place for two laps when there's a battle up front? They had a day to work on this shit and couldn't get it right. Unbelievable!

This is the first time I ever noticed a sound problem. I could barely hear Ralph & Jeff.

Even a cheap audio program has the ability to cut tracks to half volume. Since the anouncers are in another room, don't they have their own track? Or is it all mixed together, and impossible to lower the burp bike's offensive volume ?? Dunno..

I thought it was just me last week, I couldn't hear a word for most of the jax broadcast but Toronto not so bad. Noisy but I can understand.

Someone in post-production screwed up big time. Regardless of whether or not you like the commentating crew, that was embarrassing... a step backwards in working towards engaging new audiences and building brand equity for the sport of Supercross (and Motocross).

Man, it's crazy, must be something else affecting it too because I just compared jax to toronto on two tv's again and toronto is great compared to jax. Couldn't even hear Erin for Jax but very little problem hearing everything this weekend.

Totally agree, this is the first time in several weeks I didn't end up muting my TV about halfway through the race. I loved watching RC and Jeff race, but they are PAINFUL announcers.. neither can do even a passable job at describing the action.

Gotta be Canada's fault . . . or Matthes'.

Its a mixture between your surround sound settings and the cable provider you have. For some reason I had this same issue on Comcast on all sporting events from SX to NFL. My direct TV set up and my current surround sound settings work perfect.

I am on DirectTV. Have been, literally, since they came out back when the only place to get it was radio shack and you had to install it yourself! lol

I have my 55 samsung led....... couldnt hear a word from any announcer
Had it on my home theater....... couldnt hear a word
went to my man cave and had my philips lcd on.... not one word

Ty scottie, as you can tell, I was a bit pissed when I made the topic! its rare I go apeshit, but this struck a nerve with me! We have our PulpMX show, that got laughed at when it was getting ready to come out because I produce it, not some company, and it was going to be shitty sound quality wise. Plus, we wouldnt be able to get the good bandwidth (omg i had a field day with that.... they use the race gas bandwidth I guess... ROFL) We use laptops, and put out damn good sound quality without a made for it studio for Steve and Kenny, even when a caller is on and has a bad phone it still sounds decent. Why? because if you are going to do it, do it right! And right doesnt mean tons of cash! Ask DC about that one. Right means paying the hell attention! Still irks me that after the Bookoo AX deal, all the PulpMX deal, 10 years experience webcasting.... I cant possible be able to provide, or know what a "real" webcast needs because I dont own or work for a company. yeah, keep spending $50k on your webcast while I spend a tenth of that and deliver the exact same, if not better, quality, to the same number of people. What chaps my ass even more, when there is a problem, and without even being there I KNOW what the problem is/was, show or tell them how to fix it, then have a meeting, and sinces Im not a company and Im not charging them out the ass, I must not be very good. Guess I should make a company, and charge 20k instead of 2k then I would for sure know what I was doing and when I head up assed it, well, this stuff is complicated! wtf-ever

NOW, end of rant!

I never EVER bitch about ANY sx or mx coverage, but I cant stay quiet about this ANYMORE...

what effing moron dumbass idiot is running the sound for the broadcast? Some weeks its great, others, like RIGHT NOW... you cant even hear 1 effing word Ralph or Emig or ANYONE else is saying over the echoing motors! It wouldnt be this effing loud IN the damn stadium for fucks sake!!!!!!

you know, if it was something that you just couldnt help, im ok with that. but damn it, it KILLS me when you eff something up because you are too stupid to pay attention! If you are that incompetent, you do not deserve to be doing it! its not even a question of style.... if you are going to do it, do it effing right!

**NOT end of rant!
a jackoff of a joke, that guy should have his nuts cut (if he is a guy and if not give her some). my wife said it was the worst she ever heard

Sound is normally fine but I couldn't hear shit of what they were saying. It was probably the acoustics of the stadium and where Fro and Ralph were broadcasting from. The bikes were just drowning that shit out. It was bad though.

This was the first time I noticed the volume problem. Like everyone else, I'd have thought this would have been taken care of in pre-production.

Pretty annoying and unprofessional.

even when no bikes were on the track, like podium interviews, erin ralph and fro were STILL halfway drown out by the stadium announcer.

It is very obvious what happened, they had the gain for the commentary turned way to far down. rocket science right?

More whining...
3/28/2011 8:36am
filled in and sent, used every character allowed

if you guys think back, other broadcasts have had issues like this. Just not this absurdly bad. Daytona for example. You could hear Ralph, Jeff, but they were a bit low compared to the track sounds and at times, they would be talking and you couldnt hear what they were saying.

Interesting, must be a surround settings issue then? I had no problem hearing the announcers, etc. Don't recall even hearing the stadium announcer once other then during the podium speech when people started cheering for Reed when interviewing Dungey.

First you must complain about what the announcers are saying. Now people complain when they can't hear what the announcers say...

Sort it out!

IMO it's not really about weather we really want to hear what they say, it's more about doing a professional job. That broadcast was emberrassing to our sport in general. That would never happen on a nascar brodcast.

I didn't notice it one bit. Then again, I don't listen to the jibba jabba on any of the broadcasts.
