Great movie
Christian Bale was amazing. Great piece of acting and I am amazed he did not get an Oscar for that performance
He lost a shit load of weight, he looked like a fuckin crack head

Agreed, watched it Friday night and thought it was one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Pretty cool that is was based on a true story as well.

Christian Bale has always seemed to come off as a major asshole in real life, but in this movie he was amazing. I did not even know it was him, after the movie ended I asked who played that character because he was incredible. I was shocked it was Bale, he looked so different.

I bought it but have not watched it yet. I figured I would save it for when I can't watch any new TV or movies off the Libyan Coast. Glad to hear it is good.

For his role as Dicky Ward, he won extensive critical acclaim and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, among other accolades

Was not impressed with Melissa Leo, who played the mom and everyone was going nuts over. She was good, but I wasn't blown away. Didn't seem like a stretch

Bale was awesome in the Fighter. He started acting at a early age. His second movie was Empire of the Sun.

Ultimately, the fighter has a fairly conventional story in an interesting and not necessarily conventional. It is a film that might have been overly dramatized and heavy hand was placed in the hands of another director, but Russell and his reign as cast and set out to create a very specific environment and create a particular atmosphere that lends the film a sense of realism and a very unique dynamic energy with the help of the exceptional performances of the cast, helping to bring above and beyond their conventional script.
