VERY good point... America took the win.
OK then, using your logic Everts let Carmichael win at Zolder '03 because Belgium were winning the championship? I think not...

Carmichael was the man in '03 and Everts was the man in '04

But i'm not looking to start a US v Europe argument, hence the topic lol!

Hands down,Sammy!
Was never really a fan of Roth nor his stage act.....seen both live.
Always thought that Sammy did all Roth's tunes better then he originally did live, and 5150 was just genius. Wink

Blasphemy! Nothing against Mr. Hagar, but the band Van Halen had greater originality and and aggression with DLR mixing the drinks. Sammy's voice soars, especially when compared to the rasphy chokes of Dave, but "Van Hagar" lost its edge and set its sights on Top 40 hits, versus metal/angst diddies like "Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love", "Unchained", and "Mean Streets".

"1984" signalled the beginning of the end for VH as we knew it. Sammy jumped in the driver's seat as EVH was taking the band's sound in a different direction, a direction those who were weened on VH didn't appreciate. So yes, worst argument ever! (Man, I'm old...)

I think the worst argument you could ever have is......"is there ever an acceptable time to open mouth kiss a hooker"?

Trust me, that's a road you don't want to go down.

Well I say Charlie Sheen is a "glass half empty" kinda guy. I bet that puppy would clear a sinus infection right up.

I saw Van Halen back around '85 and Roth was drunk and forgetting lines and pretty much sucked. Having said that the first Van Halen (Roth years) were by FAR the best Van Halen in my opinion. Eddie is the fuggin' man!

its tough to say, VH in the begining sold more albums with VH1 and 1984 than all the Sammy albums combined but, The sammy years produce much more technical music and way better vocals. Ever wonder why VH never plays the sammy era songs when Roth is with them touring? cuz roth cant hit the notes, not even close. Old VH is great though, sammy is just a better singer, I am glad to have been here for both, thats the best of both worlds! LOL
