Dusted of my first gen Turbo Levo and took it for a spin around the local riding area and got me hooked back iinto Riding off-off-road again.  Have a Turbo Tero 5 that I have been burning up the bike paths on.  The advancements in these new E-MTB are crazy.  The stuff coming out of DJI/Amflow is pretty impressive, thinking a person should wait a year or so for these new motors.

Somehow the trail networks are under the radar for the most part. I'm going to sound like an old man here, but the dumbfucks that are building these kind of features, while obviously talented riders, are going to fuck it up for all of us. A- they're building this shit in plain view from the SC golf course. B- The marines got a new general ? recently. They closed off one section of trails due to a pocket mouse or some other critter, took down a lot of the trail signs and were threatening to take all the land back. So being under the radar is our friend here. C- The last thing we need is guys to start getting air lifted out of there, and the new jumps they're building are not for the timid by any means. Most of the guys I ride with are old beat up ex motocrossers and have a solid grasp on their ability, or lack thereof, lol. We know to go around any feature that sends you higher than you reach into the sky. It's only going to take one guy to wad it up bad and have his insurance company go out there and see what their client got hurt on, and go after whoever owns the land and allowed these things to be built. Fucking game over at that point.  We've been riding in these hills for half of forever (well 52 years for me)  And we've always tried to keep it low key. Thes guys don't know what they're risking...

not old man-ish, just Kalifornicated over a lifetime of putting up with SOP stuff like this. Sadly, nothing has changed for the better since I left 10 years ago. Funny side note- our RV broke down in CA last 3 times we used it for a trip there. Now it won't even get us past the border with AZ and new shit happens when we prep it for a potential trip there. It's a warning to stay away I think 😅

😄 Sounds like your motorhome's got your back hahaha.  You probably heard about the "Norte Fire" in San Juan Capistrano. The area that burned was the whole trail network we (used) to ride on. As of right now it's closed down with big barricades and signs saying the area is closed. The neighborhood where they lost 7 houses is now going into panic mode worrying about mudslides with the most rain ever predicted this winter. The county is up there with tractors doing what they can to control the water flow etc. The area is officially closed. But guess what ? There's guys up there building new trails through the fucking scorched earth and soot because "It's a wide open slate" now. Yeah except with no brush to camouflage them they're in plain sight. I've already heard of more than one complaint from the owners of the multi million dollars homes right underneath them. So lets see, the whole area is closed, the county is up there doing work, and you guys think it's a good time to go up there and start rebuilding "Your" trails.... Fuck me right in the ass can you fucking guys just chill out for a couple months ? Nope. They want it now now now like the spoiled rich chick from Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory.

On another note since they can't control the rats on surrons it is now illegal to push an e-bike on the "beach trail"  You can ride an analog bike as fast as you fucking want I guess but it's illegal to even HAVE one in your possesion. How's that ? I'll post some pics

Las Ramblas main trail entrance.  Yeah just go around and start digging, fuck the county’s rules and panicking homeowners. Sorry to cuss and vent here but goddamn these stupid cocksuckers are going to fuck it up for all of us and they have no fucking clue.

It's a pump, it's the size of like 2 tic tac containers stacked on top of each other.  I used to just squeeze the tires and go yeah that's good, now I'm like psi snob, it's stupid easy you just set the psi, hold it on there (no screwing or clipping it on the stem) hit the button it shuts off at whatever you set it at. I bought it on Amazon.

  https://www.amazon.com/Fanttik-X10-Ace-Mini-Inflation/dp/B0F292DSXC/ref…;

That is really cool, especially for mountain bike tires.

I feel your pain brother. Been there lived that. SMH at the never-ending stupidity of government at every level there and the speed of light introduction of new tech just makes things worse- especially for kids. We just tried to tune it out as best we could and dreamt of escaping 1 day.

So this happened today. I was riding through a sandy riverbed section when I heard something start rubbing on the tire. I knew I picked up a branch, I didn’t want to stop in the sand so I kept going for about 30 feet to the little embankment and rode up onto hard dirt. When I stopped I felt like something was hitting the bottom of the seat. When I started to drop the seat I felt something poke me in the butt.  I got off the bike and found this. I was glad I didn’t lower the dropper post any further 😂.

glad it wasn't an impromptu hemorrhoid checkup 😆 Any damage to the bike? I was concerned when buying mine that the derailer hangs so low- but was told to avoid contact with rocks and always riding crossways over sticks when possible to avoid picking them up. I haven't ridden near as much as you and your buddies but trail riding in Tahoe forest this summer, I had a few close calls with little branches kicking up but not jamming.

I call it my “Copenhagen Cruiser” and it was the only bike I had in SoCal when SunDood said,”Let’s Ride!”

So, I rode.

The Bosch e-system is pretty damn impressive, too.

We had our usual absolute blast out there.

San Clemente on a Monday-morn.

I've had to pull stuff out of the derailer a few times and had long stringy things get all wound up in there and have to "Unwind" them by rolling the wheel backwards. I've had the chain get knocked off the little rollers and jam to where it took some tugging to get it out, but so far knock on wood nothing that's left me pushing.  That's the first time I almost took one for the team though lol. It wasn't a problem until I stopped and hit the dropper post, then it was a fairly loud WTF ? ! 😄

I did throw a chain once with Team Green, I forget exactly the method but he rode next to me and shoved me along until we got to a parking lot where my kid came and scooped me up. Now I carry extra master links and a chain breaker. I haven't given it a test run yet but in theory I could fix a broken chain long enough to return to base. In theory...

The handlebars are at a pretty straight angle not like a MC bend that is hurting my wrists. Thinking about cutting  bars first to see if that helps.

Those of you that cut the bars where was it bothering you?

The specialized one has a fitting that doesent drop the pressure when released and Im pretty sure the KTM one does the same thats why I ask.

Have you tried rotating the bars back some? my biggest problem was I have a messed up neck and shoulders from getting rear ended 3x back in the 1980's- so I can't lean forward and downward. Had both Carpal releases done in 2016 which helped the numbness and tingling but not the shoulder stuff. I knew going in I needed riser bars to help straighten up my riding position. My bike came with 30mm rise bars and I replaced them with 80mm bars that helped a ton and also dual compound fatter grips. RE: cutting bars, I paid $80.00 for my new bars and wanted to ride as-is before cutting. I have a little 4-mile loop in my neighborhood with both paved and dirt sections. New bars were wider than stock, but about same as most dirt bikes. Handling became "twitchy" in front end, especially in soft dirt, slow speeds and turning. Didn't have that with stock bars. Took the bike to Tahoe and felt same thing. Buddy said he took 1" off each end of his to solve same problem when he rode technical stuff. I got back home and took the 1' off each end and sure enough handling was more stable. I have another friend that bought same Levo as yours and followed my experimenting and took 1" off his and liked the handling better as well. He also did the fat grips and gave them 👍

I have smaller hands so larger OD grips wouldn’t work. Its been Years ago but the best fitting gloves that I ever had were Kawasaki youth large gloves that were perfect for my shorter fingers. Regular gloves there is 1/2 - 3/4 longer than my fingers.

I use the smallest OD Renthal grips on all of my dirt bikes.

I have a pipe cutter for cutting down handlebars so I will try that but haven’t looked at how the grips are held on yet. Bike is still in the RV garage

forget the grips suggestion. that was the final thought and really a personal preference thing. You were trying to find a solution for not hurting your wrists? Plain & simple if your riding position has you leaned way forward with all your weight on your wrists they're going to hurt. Cutting the bars won't help that. Raising the bars can help if it moves your upper body back out of the hunchback position the way they come stock. What did you do to set up your MC to take load off your wrists? I'd bet if you can set up the MTB similar to your MC riding position that would help a lot. Just have to experiment with different stuff to see what works for you.
