Just got back from this, brilliant racing, one of our nicest road race circuits, that they let us play on , no offroad sadly, as the track is in constant use for track days and the like, and cleaning up costs a fortune, $20000 for the last event we ran there with offroad for the track clean up.
I have raced there many times, really hard track to pass, but it is on the town streets and draws a big crowd, great fun.
We were in Mettet last week, always a great event, i raced 2 classes and did the on Circuit Commentary in English for all the major races, busy 3 days, but the best time ever.
Belgians know how to party.
very cool. Maybe I should swing my German ass over to one of these races here. Never been to one

I've been there when Desalle was racing to support him, it is on my list to go again and I'm a bit bumped that I missed out on Storm Stacey, Davey Todd and Peter Hickman (who was pretty out of depth on the SM bike.)
Its not as good as it was for getting the top names there, just because everyones season goes on too long.
Last real big name to come from MX was Romain Febvre, when he was still on Yamaha.
I spoke with Peter Hickman and Davy Todd, Davey still not healed and struggling in the dirt, Hicky didnt get much track time (none at all on friday) so took a while to find his way round, at the point we chatted, i was 20th in the plus 45 Class, and he was 2 seconds a lap slower than me, but he did well to get under 2 minutes, the top guys did a 1.46. Its a totally different sport , and respect to him for turning up having never done it, and having a go, its a busy track with 52 rider starts, and zero run off anywhere.
They killed Supermoto in the US by turning it into Tarmac SX, at the first AMA race in 2003 i placed 12th in open, by the end of the season they had put jumps in that only MX/SX pro level riders could do, and no matter how good you were on the tarmac , you could never get the time back.
I declined an offer to do the 2004 series, as i knew what it would be like, and didnt want to waste my time and someone elses money, and it was a good call.
Nobody rides an SM bike and doesnt enjoy it.
Is German your first language?
jaaa
Dam, your English is perfect like you're an American.
Impressive.
ahaha thank you, but talking irl would be a different story. I always proofread before I send and often try to learn new phrases or words when I write smth so i can really express myself the way I would in German. But watching everything in english def helps, it got to a point where I almost dont think in german anymore. Dont think its anything special tho, just saying
They held a national there back in 2007 - Here are my photos from the event. https://lukaitisphoto.smugmug.com/Supermoto-2007/AMA-Supermoto-Championship
I liked the more technical dirt sections but they went a bit overboard with the implementation of supercross rhythm sections.
Track looked great. And that lineup of Troy Lee bikes was impressive. He threw a lot of support behind the series obviously.
Ive got a few more seasons of racing with Bemsee left in me and then I think im going supermoto, it looks great fun.
Never enjoyed cadwell on anything bigger than a minitwin, it looks fantastic on a supermoto.
Keep in the great work👌
