Hello Vital!
I will attend A1 for the first time ever, flying in from Sweden.
A few questions, if you Pros have time to answer.
- How's parking in-out, will you sit on the parking lot 1-2h after the race is over waiting to get out?
- How's traffic in the area, I'm planning on staying in Costa Mesa (as it's familiar, been there before). Going North/South in that case, will it be heavy traffic to/from ?
- If you would stay in the hotels to the east from the stadium instead, close to the Disney resort, is it walking distance/dangerous walk? Rider shares maybe preferred?
- Any good advice for a first timer at A1?
cheers! See you there!
There won’t be much traffic at all on a Saturday afternoon. Once you get on the 55 North you’ll be at the stadium in 15 minutes from Costa Mesa. Traffic getting out of the stadium always sucks unless you leave early. I suggest parking across the street at Katella and Stadium Xing, there’s a parking structure there for the stadium and it’s much easier to get in and out of.
there’s also a couple of places to eat there as well if you want to go a little earlier.
A1 is always a great time, have fun!
Parking is something like $50+, so that’s something to keep in mind as well
Get 300 level seats, club level, 1st upper deck.
View is excellent and only 7 rows if I remember right.
We’ve only attended A1 once, it was a couple of years ago and we stayed in a hotel west of the stadium.
Then we took an Uber to and from the race.
It worked well for us and we would do it that way again.

Thanks, just booked 300 lvl seat! Very excited, first A1
!!!
Uber to and from Stadium from hotel 5min drive away. I typically walk 3-5 min away from Stadium when leaving since traffic is one way out from parking.
Have had car one time and there was no issue with leaving, maybe 20-25min max waiting time.
We have gone the past three years and are again this year...we take our youngest to Disneyland a couple days, then hit the race. We stay at the SunCoast Park Hotel which is between Disneyland and Angel Stadium. Great hotel with good breakfast and a reasonably priced restaurant/bar. We just Uber to the stadium (was about $10 if I recall). After trying to Uber out year 1 (which was a disaster with traffic), the last two years we simply walked back from the Stadium. Its under a 2 mile walk with lots of places to stop and grab food or a drink going back to the hotel.
You’ll love it.
It’s easy driving in and out of the stadium. The only part that’s a little annoying is waiting in line to leave if you stay to watch the entire 450 main and podium celebrations but it’s not horrible compared to some other stadiums or nationals. Costa Mesa is the perfect place to stay imo. You should have tons of fun.
Parking and traffic was fine when I went. In and out pretty quick. We stayed in one of the Disney hotels and it was fine. My only recommendation is to arrive as soon as the parking lot opens. Bring a monster can(one per person) so you can go in the pits. Pits are really close to stadium so you can go back and forth as you desire.
We watched the A practices and went in pits for the other ones.
If you get a hotel near the stadium I would just Uber/Lyft.
Getting out of LAX can be annoying if it's busy.
A1 is a supercross everyone should attend at least once. Even if Feld ruined it with way too early of a start and daytime fireworks.
If you can fly into/out of John Wayne Airport, you'll be much happier than at LAX

Interesting story on the History of Anaheim.
In 1857, 50 German immigrants who had never farmed pooled their savings and bought raw land along the Santa Ana River to build a wine colony from scratch.
They called it Anaheim. Against all odds, it worked — within two decades their vineyards produced hundreds of thousands of gallons of wine a year, making Anaheim one of the largest wine-producing regions in California.
Then a mysterious vine disease wiped out every grape in the colony. The town should have died. Instead, the same land was replanted with Valencia oranges, and a new citrus economy rose from the ruins — an industry so dominant that when the region split from Los Angeles County in 1889, they named it Orange County.
For sixty years Anaheim was a quiet agricultural town surrounded by groves. Then Walt Disney secretly bought 160 acres of those groves, bulldozed the trees, and built a castle.
This is the story of the most improbable company town in American history — a place that was destroyed and reinvented several times over, from failed vineyard colony to citrus empire to the home of Disneyland.
Interesting fact and Tie-in to the SMX series. The original guy who developed the irrigation system in Anaheim. His name was Hansen.
Monster Beverage Corporation is an American beverage Company that manufactures Energy drinks .The company was originally founded as Hansen's in 1935 in Southern California originally selling juice products. The company renamed itself as Monster Beverage in 2012.

Too bad Hooters closed down. We’d park in the industrial complex just above Hooters , eat there , then walk in. The only thing we don’t do now is the Hooters part. Pretty cool that the satellite cruised by and did the imaging for Google Maps during the Anaheim swing of the series.

Hit up MxHeaven, the owners Swedish. Go see SX and go ride Perris, Glen Helen, and pala while your at it.
