Erin then asked Justin Barcia an interesting question about the toughness of the track, which he totally ingnored answering and just spouted the speil of thanking his sponsors!
Sorry, but his answer just made him look stupid to thousands of TV viewers.
Somebody please get him some media training, so he listens to the questions asked, can craft an interesting answer and work his sponsor thankyou's into his reply, naturally like RV and James answer.

who cares what they say on the podium? I'm new around here, but just curious, has there been a thread about Dungey's podium speaches, or any public interview for that matter? He can barely get out 2 words of a sentence before he starts the next sentence. He is by far the worst public speaker I have heard in my life. I'll have to find some of his interviews.

"Barcia's hair"
"Chad's earings"
"blah blah"

I see a NEW business venture for Travis Preston, media training. His interviews were great ie. "ya all I have to say is I rode like donkey poop out there tonight". He was awesome

If you're being put in a position to advertise your team, yourself, your sponsors and the sport you better take it seriously or have someone on the team that does. If not you look like a fool stumbling around not answering the questions asked. I still laugh every time I see a rider go over the list of his sponsors in his head (looking up in to oblivion), looking at his bike or by looking at a jersey. If you can remember every rhythm lane on a track week in and week out why can't you can remember a list of 10 sponsors all season long? Hell most are lucky to list of 5-7 in an interview.

I think the point here perhaps is the podium finishers need more then that 20 seconds to spew their sponsors out like a robot. Give another 30 seconds each instead of showing a crash 5X so they dont look like tards on the box

you've GOT to be kidding me.

first off, motocross might get 1 million people to watch IF all the riders set themselves on fire at the start.

this idea that somehow this sport of children racing dirtbikes; EVER being more than an enthusiast sport ALWAYS makes me laugh.

i would love to see the data on market share, and common man appreciation from 1971 thru 2011.

i would bet a LARGE sum that the percent of people who pay ANY attention to motocross has set completely still in the single digits.

and it's NOT because Barcia isn't media trained or that MX hasn't copied NASCAR (close enough), or 30 minute motos or live television... it's that MX is a sport for people who ride and race...

and it always will be.

end of rant.

p.s. personally i have known that motocross is the GREATEST sport on the planet since 1971, but that's me... I race.

So what exactly were you looking to hear him say? " Leave me alone, my wrist is fucking killing me"? Or for him to repeat what the announcers were repeating all night long like " This Ricky Carmichael designed course is changing with every lap! Great job Ricky!" I'll tell you who was happy with his speech, his sponsors.

And by the way, I was real impressed with Erin's interview with the legendary Joe Gibbs a few weeks ago! Can you say Alzheimers? No disrespect Joe, but you fit better in NASCAR, unlike your son, Coy, who couldn't drive a nail through a piece of wood. And yes, I watched him drive!

Bottom Line, I haven't seen anyone race with a broken wrist & finish second. Takes heart to do so. He will win the championship barring further injury, count on it.

Get off & move along. Roczen will be coming back to his homeland soon. Don't worry.
