So had a few pair of Scott Prospects stored away in a case for couple years. Go to use them couple weeks ago and the glue on the band is all sticky and a real mess. Anyone else have this problem ? I have other brands of goggles same age that did not do this.
Maybe you can use goggle to search if anyone else has your same google question🤣
Congrats on getting out of prison.
Is it possible some sort of chemical reacted with the silicone on the strap? Windex, contact cleaner, gasoline, etc.
Google glue keeps the internet working together!
To the OP: things just don’t last like they used to. Replace them.
Had the same thing happen to me. I contacted Scott through email, and social media. Sent photos of the brand new goggles, and paperwork. They ignored me, and I never heard back. I’ll never buy another Scott goggle again.

Huh.
Thread has me digging out the last pair of googles I bought in 2005 ish. I haven' worn them since 2010 I think. Surprised to see them in great shape. The strap is still stretchy and the foam that presses against the face seems OK but if I wore them now I wouldn't be surprised if the foam disintegrated from my sweat.
This was a recall for them a few years ago, I was able to take mine to my parts guy and he swapped em out for me. Not sure if that expired or not but scott knew about it.
I had this happen on a pair of new Scott goggles a couple years ago. I had ordered them from RMATV, told them about it so they exchanged them… The new pair they sent was the same way. Must’ve been a Friday batch
I got a pair from WPS and told my rep about it and he told me to get fucked. I haven't touched a pair of Scott Googles since
bummer, I just asked my parts manager to deal with it and it was dealt with lol
"Google Glue"
OK
Hello Sir, I Googled "Glue" and this is what I got.
Glue, also known as an adhesive, is a non-metallic substance used to tightly bind two separate surfaces together and stop them from pulling apart. [1, 2]
I had the same thing with sticky strap goop. This was kind of a known issue for a bit. I called Scott and told them and they mailed me another strap.
