I'm just not sayin it right obviously.     It was meant to be a simple question of what is directly impacting you that is better  now than 4 years ago.  Like your life personally stripped down to just You. And only factoring in policy that has directly impacted you.

When I try and say it in as few words as possible without examples I am unable to, and when I include examples to help explain it throws people off subject.  And then there's also I've been feeling crappy for the past few days so maybe I'm just  a bigger idiot and doing a worse job  trying to say something than I normally do.

honestly, none of it affects my day to day. I'm used to gas prices going up and down for what seems like no reason. No 1 person can cause it either. Oil and natural gas are commodities and bought and sold on futures contracts and speculation. 'fear of' drives many transactions. I lived most my life in California where gas prices were always above most other states. Regulation and taxes added to the commodity always made us pay more. Same with electricity and water.

The stock market can be real twitchy as well based on world events, but over time always trends upwards.  We chose to move to a place where cost of living is like 40% less and don't work with a big commute which helps. We're retired with SS and Medicare and a small affordable mortgage so everything just kind of runs on autopilot and we don't want for money or things. Health is a big equalizer and has more effect on personal happiness than anything else.

It really doesn't matter who the President is, life is mostly the same for us. The big concern is making sure no political movement takes over and tries to blow up the foundation the country was built on disrupting life as we know it for no good reason. The country isn't perfect but no other system has ever provided so much for so many and there's simply no better proven option out there no matter how it's repackaged by new politicians with their own agendas. Personal freedom is priceless.

Around here we're more affected by our local political cronyism, and entrenched corruption, than anything happening in the beltway.

Raising property taxes, with diminishing services, is just the start.

Oh, and I like how recapping the numerous vile statements of others, has me the one with hate in my heart.

Funny you don’t think the crumbling of our separation of powers between branches of government as blowing up the foundation of our country.

I find it tragic (although understandable given today's unabashedly biased and corrupt mainstream media + failed education system) you would misconstrue the Chief Executive exercising the full extent of his lawful powers as something sinister or unconstitutional. Is he testing all the boundaries of his lawful powers? Sure! It's called an Imperial Presidency, and this isn't the 1st or only time in our history.

I'm never going to embarrassed by my position that protecting children from abuse by having difficult conversations about uncomfortable subjects is important. There's a lot of bad people in the world and lives can be absolutely ruined before they begin.

The issue is that in non-moto you and chatmore default to posting personal attacks rather than interesting original thoughts. Sure a good natured ribbing is fun we're all adults and not pussies but mix it up every once in a while, a long string of personal negativity is a window into a dark soul.

Its interesting how the official poverty  ( OPM) level is calculated by census data, And doesn't factor in  any expenses. Just overall income level pre tax  , The Supplementary poverty measure (SPM).  in taxes and other essential costs ( housing being one )

If you run a business and only is look at the total amount of money that came in, and none that went out. Are you getting an accurate picture of how well that company is doing financially?   No not really , but that's how they calculate the official poverty level.  I'm not really sure that either of these are really showing how well or not well people are doing or not doing.  But if you look at how you figure out the profit of a business, it would seem like a similar formular would make sense to calculate the poverty level. Rather than just a fixed pre tax income( total amount of  sales or money that came into a business)

It is interesting to dig in and look and see how the stats are compiled and r what is and is not used to factor the levels.  Well I thought it was. So thanks for bringing it up.

Speaking of Dark Souls, remember this guy and the show back in the 60’s & early 70’s? I couldn’t stop watching the show even though I didn’t like going to bed at night as a young lad.😆tmp 41

Yes , Dark Shadows . I loved the show,  but it was scary going to bed at night. Back then we lived on a 20 acre farm, the house was huge , built in the 30’s and was very creaky! 😆
