The Fox Theatre in Atlanta has survived. It is my favorite place to see a concert. It is beautiful inside!
Mine too. Saw Pearl Jam on their second tour and Oasis there too. Before that, Ted Nugent with LA guns opening. Begrudgingly I went with a friend to see REM and literally fell fucking asleep mid concert.
Incredible venue that is acoustically perfect.

No matter your type of music, stations rotate the same playlist of a couple of dozen songs over, and over again.
"Classic rock" being the worst.
Interspersed with car sales advertising, along with local ambulance chasing attorneys, for those who can't drive the cars they bought.
Thankful for spotify, and hundreds and hundreds of CD's while I'm behind the wheel.
I forgot to add that it was a Virginia Slim in one hand and a silver bullet in the other. Couldn't care less where I was until the street lights came on. 🙂

I haven't listened to "radio" in years. You are right...it's the same crap played over and over with nothing but endless commercial interruptions.
I just load up my phone with my eclectic music tastes and listen commercial free via BT connection. Either that or stream my my wifes Sirius account through my phone in my car.
Used to love the radio back in the day...it's a shame.
That's what I thought too....but I couldn't find any documentation on that fact doing a quick search.

Always wanted to go to the fucking Catalina wine mixer.
Been to Catalina multiple times over the years. Leaving on the ferry out of Long Beach. You could tour the Queen Mary (always undergoing maintenance) - maybe that's been moved now? Howard Hughes Spruce Goose wood airplane used to be there too. There is some stuff to do on the main pier on Catalina and some day hikes/trips you can go on. The Wrigley family that once owned the Cubs had a spring training facility there. You could rent golf carts for a day to get around and even a self-guided tour around the inhabited part of the island. Not sure any of that still exists as it's been awhile, but I'd almost bet there's lots of E-Bike and scooter rentals by now 🤔
Been there a number of times over the last 30 years. It's a great place to visit...but never stayed overnight. Would like to.
My previous employer would give our team funds to take a day to do something fun once a year (team "bonding") so we went to Catalina a couple times leaving from Dana Point. Once we Kayaked. Another time we did the "Hummer" off road tour. Always wanted to do the zip line but one of our colleagues was a complete pussy (read: lawsuit just waiting to happen)

Catalina is a remider of what SoCal was until the 80s, before it became overpopulated. Between1988 and 2005, the last time I went as far as I remember, I went there by little plane, sailboat, and ferry from Dana Point many times. The airport restaurant on top of the island was famous for its buffalo burgers.
It's a different world from the mainland 25 miles away. No cars allowed except government vehicles, and a limited number of golf carts for the Gen Pop.
Even the Labor Day weekend when my San Diego native friend and I spent the long weekend there on his his Islander 32, it was busy but not overcrowded.
Bit of trivia -- San Diego Bay to Catalina is DEAD into the prevailing wind. Unless you want to spend two days tacking around the south side of San Clement Island which is exactly 62 miles from SD Bay, you have to motor to Avalon. Even that took 12 hours.
Amazing place. I hope it still looks like last time I went... with an ex-gf.
The time on my point-n-shoot canera was always off by 12 hours, these were taken around 5 pm 😁
