Let me know what you think:
Rd 1 - Full SX, run by Feld, whoops and all. Regular SX format with 1 main event = single points
Rd 2 - Full MX, run by MX Sports, ideally at Glen Helen (I know that is unlikely). 2 moto format, score each moto separately = double points
Rd 3 - Hybrid event run by both groups, at Las Vegas motor speedway. Triple crown format, score each race separately = triple points

Phillips and Matthes were going off about SMX on Pulp last night. I think the cracks are really starting to show. I didn't realize the finale was at a glorified fairgrounds in southern Missouri. Wow. I can't imagine anybody is excited about heading there. I love that the money is here but it's all just a bit weird.
I just posted this same concept in another thread. Looks like you beat me to it! I think it would be better than what we have right now.
We already have 17 supercrosses and 11 outdoor nationals. How about a series of all hybrid tracks, just like Daytona? 1:30 laptimes, supercross obstacles, a layout halfway between a football stadium supercross and a full outdoor national track.

Rd2: Everyone vs. Friese. +10pts per takeout. Vince is crowned SMX champion.
Rd3: Erzberg on XR600's. Everyone who finishes gets to run #1 plate next year.
