It's fun to tinker and experiment when all you need to do is spend a few bucks on jets instead of driving to the dealer to gets your ECU flashed and codes cleared or buying some aftermarket tuner box for hundreds or more.   ☺️

I have about 15 hours on the Champ pipe and it has been an amazing change. For me, it’s all positive with no downsides. 

The thing that stands out the most is the increased over rev. The bike no longer signs off at upper RPM’s, it just keeps pulling and allows you to carry gears much longer. 

One positive I haven’t heard others talk about is how smooth the throttle response is during on/off throttle situations. The Champ pipe makes this situation very smooth and almost electric feeling. With the stock pipe or the FMF fatty, the engine can be a little too responsive in my opinion. 

And of course the look and sound of the PC pipe with shorty silencer is amazing. I have ran the rack pipe in the past and I feel this Champ pipe gives a more deep tone vs the raspy sound of the rack pipe. Maybe that’s not accurate but it is what I think I hear. 

I have owned 5 YZ250’s throughout my riding career and have tried a lot of things to get the power how I want it to feel. Most of the time with limited success. This new Champ stamp YZ250 pipe is exactly what I have been looking for. 

For reference I’m a plus 40 vet rider that practices moto and races GNCC type events.

Agree. At the moment I have an all stock YZ 250 with the champ (previously I had the rack Works Pipe). In the past I had another YZ with a full FMF Fatty/Shorty, Vforce reeds, Apex MX head.

All I can say is the champ pipe is THE BEST power mod I did ever. Agree with the performance and the sound, I simply love it.

I have a stock 19 and starting to look at playing around with mods but don't want to get too crazy. Would you say for the money id be better off with the champ pipe over the combination of like a PC Shorty + vforce reeds or apex head for similar money? How do you feel about flywheel weight for MX?
