A.M.E. was a Great time for me at Indian Dunes! It was short lived, late '81 to mid '83 but I'll never forget it!

Here's my 1982 A.M.E. License, I liked the fact that they inforced the 3 wins and you move up to the next class. These days I HATE seeing 4 full gates of beginners and only 3 guys in Int. or the Pro class. I rather tell my friends I got last in the Pro Class then 1st in beginner .... Move up!

Jerry Shore Sr. lived another 6 years after the accident (if my memory serves me). Shirley believes (and I do to) that faith in Christ prevailed and this is why Jerry lived and did not die from this accident. Again, if my memory serves me... Jerry passed peacefully at their Acton home, sitting on their front porch enjoying his morning coffee and view (a beautiful view too).

My son and I recently spent time with and drove Shirley Shore (after talking her into it) to watch Doug Nicol race Speedway 12/12/09. Below is a photo taken from the event.

In the photo L top to R bottom: Mike ?, Paul Lane, Tom Harper, Rick Miller, Louie Franco, Rob Peeples, Graham Peeples, Shirley Shore. Many old MX friends have been getting reacquainted via Facebook and pages like the Indian Dunes, Saddleback, Hopetown, etc. pages.

John, I have one of my A.M.E. License's too. Thanks for reminding me how many wins it took to move up, I was somewhat surprised being reminded it took only 3 wins to move up. No wonder I was in the INT class for only a short while...my dad had me move up to pro's as soon as I hit my win quota. I was pro as a 15 yr. old kid, and with that move motocross became work and most of the fun for racing vaporized (the downside to turning pro).

I laugh at all the goofs that refuse to move up in class. Racing with guys that are faster and/or like speed is part of the fun of racing (battling is fun).

Team Peeples > Yeah, I moved up pretty fast in '82 with the 3 win rule too! Haha! .... I spent about 2 months in beginner Friday night Mini track races then tapped out and moved on to night's and weekends on the International & Shadow Glen in the Novice mini Stock class, then at the end of the year turned Inter and raced the Mini Mod 105 class. In mid '83 I was just to big for a 80cc so I went to 125's. Short year, but in my head for life!

Jerry&Shirley Shore were just about as nice a couple as you will ever find. Shirley always remembered your name& number and would be the one to tell you "your moving up". Christmas of 77 at signup and she handed me a raffle ticket and said now don't lose this it's worth a helmet. Between moto's they would read off all the ticket numbers and I won the free Electro helmet & tour of the factory! Not sayin any shenanigans were at play. I spent years racing every weekend with them and we had a ball!
125/250/500 intermediate #44 cheers, Pat
