About Me
I raced Dunes, Muntz/Valley Cycle Park mostly and Saddleback occasionally. I raced with AME mostly , then CRC and CMC on occasion.
Began racing in 1974, turned pro [250] in 1975. Rode Honda's, Kawasaki's and Suzuki 125's. Rode Maico's, Suzuki's and Honda 250's.
My father made it all happen for me (paid for everything and he and my mom supported my racing entirely). I wore his Restaurants logos/signage on my jerseys, that is... The Melting Pot Restaurants and Mahcos Mexican Restaurant.
I wished: I had raced Yamaha's instead toward the end of my racing days? Why? Those things could turn on a dime - I would of won many more races.
What I could change: Almost nothing except maybe appreciate my families support and those days much, much more than I did.
What I am proud of: Turning pro after 16 months of racing and at the age of 15. I was the first to bring a video camera to the races and learned the science of racing. I made major adjustments to my [lack of] style and began winning and traveling speeds I never thought was possible.
No major injuries - yeah: I got out of the sport as double and triple jumps were being introduced (they're dangerous and dumb, IMO).
