Seahawks got draft pics from Minnesota . They let their assistant general manager to John Snyder go , to be minnesota’s GM. The Hawks now have 12 pics in next years draft.
Russell Wilson calls it a career.
It’s going to be interesting to see how he’s remembered. He has some incredible moments early, but then he became more of a caricature of a ‘leadership’ seminar salesman. Once he fully pivoted towards that, he just seemed to stall out as a player and it seemed like he spent too much time trying to ‘be seen’ as a celebrity.
I’m grateful that he was in Seattle when he was and I wish he could have continued to have that level of success, but I think he’s going to have a legacy tarnished a bit by the last three stops instead.
He’s a HOF’r irregardless of how things went after he went elsewhere. His numbers don’t lie ,he’s in the top 5 or 6 and number 2 behind Brady in a couple in every statistical category that matters. Steven A’s comments this morning are the best I’ve heard from anyone in sports media about Russ. Ring of Honor and HOF first ballot IMO.
I would have thought the same thing before the Denver trade. Now I am not so confident about it. When you think about it, there are only 28 quarterbacks in the HOF. 28. In all of the years of professional football. That's a pretty exclusive club.
If Wilson had stayed in Seattle and had had the same type of production over the next 3-4 years, I think he would have most probably gotten in, maybe not first ballot though. If he would have continued to play like we was in Seattle after going to Denver, I think he would have had an even better shot at it because it could have helped lessen the thought that he was a 'system' quarterback who benefitted from having some stellar defenses helping to carry the team. But the decline, even though he was actually playing really well in his second season in Denver, probably helps reinforce those approaches to viewing his career.
I think it depends a lot on how the voters remember him. Wilson during his first 5 years? Great! Wilson during his last 4 years? Not looking too good to join such an exclusive club. I'm not sure if the stats in this picture are absolutely correct, but if so then it would be difficult to justify keeping him out. But the voters aren't machines and I think his style, especially later in his career, rubbed a lot of potential voters the wrong way. Mayne not enough to keep him out forever, but probably enough to make him wait a few extra years after he is eligible. Of course those of us who were Seahawks fans also have the knowledge that he never had the offensive line that he should have. All of the Seahawks focus was on the defensive side of the ball, it seemed, and Wilson did what he did with a line that was habitually in the bottom 5 of the league most of the time.

I highly doubt he’ll go in , in 5 years . But he’ll get in , there’s just no justifiable way anyone could be kept out with those stats. One of the things I’ve always found funny is how they like to label Russ as a game manager with a good defense. Well I think the stat in the last milestone dispels that notion. I like to point out that, the D was the unit that collapsed in the playoff game against Atlanta that kept the Hawks from going to the NFC Championship the very first year we had Russ. Not to mention it was Russ who put the team on his back in that game to get the lead back and then the D collapsed losing the game.

No kidding. I hadn’t heard about any of this.👍🏻
They should just rotate the stadium 90 degrees.
No curtains, the natural light is nice.
These guys have had to deal with the sun since elementary school football, they'll be OK.
BEARS : Coby Bryant the big $40 million offseason investment on defense, went down with a bone bruise, hyperextended knee, and small fracture during the team's first padded practice. While the injury is luckily not season-ending, it does sideline him for the next 8-10 weeks.
O.k. we can handle this....
Jahmyr Gibbs got his pay day. good for him. homeless to the highest paid RB ever.

Lets Roll !!
Resilient Seahawks come back form 10 points down with second string quarterback for the win.
Well, it wasn’t pretty but a win is a win! Seattle needs their starting safeties back yesterday, or it could end up being a rough go for a while. Hopefully Darnold isn’t banged up too badly.
Exciting way to start the season. Definitely could have been a cleaner game but they stepped up when it counted.
Pit Row
Super Bowl bet payoff.
When the Pats beat the Hawks in Super Bowl XLIX, (2015), I had a bet with buddy Bruce who lives in Cape Cod MA. The bet was if the Pats won I would have to wear a Pats Super Bowl shirt at a public event in Seahawks country. If the Hawks had won, visa versa. I honored our bet and I wore the Pats shirt on the outside of my jersey in my last motocross race.
We renewed our bet for Super Bowl LX and of course the Hawks won. So tonight during the Hawks/Pats season opener, Bruce wore his Seahawks Super Bowl LX shirt to a sports bar in Cape Cod and he sent me this pic. Thanks Bruce!
That’s really cool Reese. 😎💯
Jet lagged Rams fail in Australia. 😆😆😆
Myles Garrett didn’t record a single tackle or any other stat other than snap counts in the game. He’s supposed to be a monster for the Rams this season, but it obviously isn’t starting on a good note.
It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes Aaron Donald to get into playing shape and how much that helps Garrett’s game as well. Hopefully both those guys have quiet, uneventful seasons but if they click at the same time they will be a QB’s worst nightmare!
Don't know why this jumped out at me at the end of the Hawks/Pats game but it did.
What do you think Witherspoon was saying to Pats receiver Hollins right after Jobe made the winning interception for the Seahawks?
They deserved it. Zero respect to the Aussies for what’s supposed to be a Rams ‘home’ game. Stadium was all red and gold, Brock sliced them up and Warner is just an absolute beast.
Doesn’t make us favourites or anything like that but it was a start to the season worth staying up to 5am for. Bang bang!
It appears the Rams believed all the hype . Talk about going undefeated and winning the Superbowl without playing 1 game. Truth is Miles Garrett. Isn’t a young man ,this is his 9th year in the league and Aaron Donald retired for a reason, didn’t even make the trip. Matt Stafford. Is old and he looked it. Personally, I’ve never thought he was as good as he was made out to be. The coach is as arrogant as they come. Bottom line is nothing is handed to anyone in the NFL. Rams are going to have to put in the work like any contender. The NFC West is no walk thru.
I looked at my cable guide early on Thursday and it showed the Rams/49ers game on NFL Network at 9:30 PM pacific time and it said "new". I misread that to be 'live". So I'm watching the replay of the Seahawks/Pats game before that on the NFL Network. Then they flash the 4th quarter score for the Rams/49ers on the bottom of the screen. Shit, talk about a spoiler. Well I guess the game was on live on Prime TV or Netflix which I don't get.
I don’t have Netflix either, I watched the highlights on the NFL Network this morning.
