I remember her telling me once that, anyone who goes online, Facebook, forums etc...

Can easily be tracked down. 

Everyone's internet history can be easily pulled up, good or bad.

 

Everyone can be outed.

Doxxed if that's what it's referred to. 

 

But to use it openly as a threat, is rather henhouse.

It was a good story. The guy grew up the worst fisherman in his town till one day a fish, who was still alive in a pile of fish that were brought in off the harbor talked to him and made a deal with him that if he saved his life, the fish would each day tell him where to fish and what to use to be successful so long as the young man never gave up the secret that the talking fish was helping him. This agreement lasted for 30 years as the boy became a man and a fishing legend in his town till one day he forgot about his agreement of secrecy and accepted an offer from another talking fish. That betrayal led him to never catch another fish as long as he lived.
