When Reed got on the podium, the crowd was very loud. I would say it was probably half cheers and half boos. Everyone was just very excited to get to watch such an awesome race!
Boo or cheer, I applaud both for being gladiators and rising up from last year's ashes and once again finding ways to elevate their game over everyone else. Reed's pass was a gamble just like racers swapping through the whoops pushing the envelope or trying to quad something everyone else is tripling - they are all racing gambles, I love it.
I hope Chad goes "all-in" every race, sooner or later those all-in gambles are going to pay off bigger than the 3rd-4th "smart" rides... just saying.

I'm not here to change anyone's minds but there are some who may not have their minds made up that I thought may find what I said educational or provide a view they didn't realize.
James had all the time in the world to prepare for a chess match in that corner knowing Chad had to be right on him only having passed him 5 corners before... There are a million scenarios in racing and this one was racing. Chad had no time to prepare for being cut over on right after a triple and up the face of another jump at Jax 09.
And thanks for reminding me I had a serious injury I nearly forgot (sarcasm)... I think the serious injury card should be pulled on Stewart and Barcia for coming over on people over triples, not me. Yea, I know about serious injury. Just as all the riders on the gate do. Reed has lost a great friend in Australia to mx. Stewart ran 259 for the first half of his career for Tony Haines who was paralyzed racing. Fonseca is friends with many top guys. James Marshall. They all know, it isn't their priority to injure someone. The only reason this pass-attempt is on the radar is because it was Reed, who is portrayed as always being "slower" than RC4 and JS7, and he led for nearly all the laps and then gets passed... so people want to label it lame, stupid, get-even, all-he-could-do.... if he had came from 10th or something and ran Stewart down and pulled that move he'd be the new American hero right now, the "come-from-behind ride!" But no he's made out a criminal and a danger to racers.
When CR22 starts coming over on peple over jumps and looking over his shoulder on a straight-a-way and then cutting over to clip a rider then I'll stand outside the AMA trailer with safety and safer riding no-UFC signs Racer111.
Thanks - we can always expect a completely unbiased report from you ... especially when Reed is involved.
It was a corner. It's racing. These guys don't calculate physics in their heads out there, they see openings and go for it. It's a racer's instinct. Not gonna change. As long as it's a corner and not a jump, and none of the course gets cut, I'm 99.9% cool with any of them.
Go Stewart, go Hansen, go Barcia, go Reed, go for it.
I'm outty on this thread and I respect all views I just have certain things ingrained in my brain after watching it for so long as well as doin it so that's where my .02 comes from.
Post a reply to: I've never heard a rider get BOOed so loud before...
